    Yep. I had mentioned in another thread that I finally had the time to watch a bit of Hawthorne's work at Illinois and in the Shrine game, and he looks like a very high potential guy. He has starter athleticism and a willingness to hit. He just needs some good coaching to put it all together. I am liking that 5th round selection.

    Well then he has the right guy coaching him, Lake will get the most out of him.

    This is all good stuff to hear. I'm particularly excited about Sharmarko.

    The 4th and 5th rounds were solid rounds for the Steelers. We may have picked up half of our starting defensive backfield for the next 8-10 years (Thomas and Hawthorne) and our back-up QB for the next few seasons with some potential to be a capable starter if/when he has to.. The more I look at this draft, UDFA's included, I'm sure the FO is very happy with the talent collected.

    I agree and I know people will point out the 2008 draft but I was not among those that thought that was a great draft to begin with, I liked the first 2 picks, that was it.
