looking around at some mock draft seems yankey could be available at 46 , i rember mac like him even in the first , would you take him in the second he can be a starter left guard and possible backup left tackle

I would take him at #46 in a heartbeat. I think he is a plug and play LG and an immediate upgrade over Foster. We will likely never draft early enough to get a franchise LT so we may as well build the rest of the line with studs. Yankey would finish that build since I believe Adams can be a stud RT.

No. Early on I was adamant about fixing the OL once and for all. However, we are so thin at DL,OLB,ILB, and CB the OL will have to wait.

No. I'm not as high on Yankey as many are. I would take a stud lineman early and not think twice, but he's not that guy for me.

No. We still have Embernate who I think will do well.

No way drafting a guard at #46, too many needs on defense and a few on offense.

not sure DY would have the footwork we will require in the zone scheme at tackle. I do think he would be an upgrade for foster, but not at 46. I like the kid, but I think there could be better options as G/T lower.

I'm still all about schofield and Johnson possibly in the 4th or early 5th and Johnson our 2nd-5th or 6th though I wouldn't want to wait and miss in the 6th.

lots of talk from scouts about not just considering schofield as being a RT only player. he has good quickness numbers as a possible LT. schofield is pretty good in pass protection.

Johnson is also LT capable but also has guard and center capabilities. these two would be great fits and solidify several key positions whether as backups or eventual starters. Wallace isn't getting any younger. it's that 3rd center that is needed. on gameday Johnson would be a valuable piece of the puzzle.

one draft could solidify this unit for many years. a 4th and 5th or two 5ths or a 5th and a 6th is not a heavy price to pay for this. it also still allows us to draft other need spots.

(schofield LT-RT, beachum LT-LG-C-RG-RT, pouncey C-LG-RG, DD RG-???, ??????) then Johnson LT-LG-C-RG-RT, embernate LG-RG-RT, Wallace C-LG-RG, as the game day group.

with (foster LG-RG-RT-(LT??), adams RT-(LT??), gilbert RT-(LT???), Abdullah the butcher, LG-RG-RT-(LT??), hubbard LT-LG-C-RG-RT, browning LG-RG-RT) all fighting it out as backups and RT.

if by some chance pouncey goes next year, we have some options in place. this is my weiw of what I'd like to see in camp this year with munch.

I am still pretty high on Yankey and am not going to let bad combine numbers deter me. Heck, DeCastro didn't have a great combine either which is why he fell.

That being said, the options that are potentially going to be there at #46 are vast. If we don't go WR in round 1, I really think that's where we have to go in Round 2.

if we want one of the top corners, we have to do it in rd.1. they won't be there at 46, but some of these receivers will be. of course there is always the thought of possibly taking martin at 15 and killing two birds with one stone so to speak. he gives you a LT capable guy and a guard capable guy in one player. probably a better LT than yankee would be and possibly a little more mobile but not quite as technical as yankee would be at guard. then you are stuck with whos left at wr and cb.

I just watched a replay of the rose bowl. mich st. vs Stanford. that yankee is a good inside player on the move. smart. Stanford has some good front 7 people and a safety that's pretty good. Gaffney ain't bad either.
