First off my auto correct did that and the Heinz company deserves the respect to call it by the real name. You may not be from PGH and may not realize every thing that company has done for the city so please give it the respect that it deserves. Hines Ward is nothing compared to them when it comes to Pittsburgh. That's as bad as disrespecting the terrible towel.

I hate this argument. It's simply not true. Every dollar he gets is a dollar that can't be spent on a player that hasn't already proven he can't play. A roster spot wasted on him is a spot not available for some kid who might surprise like Victor Cruz did with the Giants. Every play wasted on DHB in practice and preseason is an opportunity denied to young WR that needs every chance he can get to prove he can contribute to this team.

Speed is speed. Even if he dropped half of all passes thrown his way (a huge exaggeration), he'd still get several TDs a game if you didn't cover him, or only covered him with one non-speedy guy. It would affect how they play defense against us for sure, compared to a slower guy.

I'm luke warm on the signing. I'm happy to let him compete and see what he can do. If he doesn't look great, I have no problem dropping him. I'm sure he'll be an easy financial cut.

Yeah sometime ago but the global head quarters is still there but through the years it was huge for PGH. I guess we shouldn't celebrate Carnegie either since there are no mills left. I'm just extremely proud of where I come from and it's history be it the bloody history of the union battles or how it has turned from rust belt to the leading robotics place in the world. I'm proud that I grew up a steel workers son and that my Dad has been at the mill for 50+ years now and going strong.

that's fine your proud, but there's two sides to it too. a lot of companies have made there money and are now after cheap labor. they up and left who built them. a lot of that is because of the unions. not the union workers but the union heads. I'm from the rust belt too and have seen them all rape the land and air, used the people up, got rich and left town. the people turned Pittsburgh back around not the companies. we have some of the hardest working people in the country around here and they retrained themselves to become strong again. the companies need the people from here more than the companies deserve all the respect from success. let's not bring up Johnstown and the company heads that made that all possible. or why the union battles were so bloody.;)
