Darly Richardson RB #38

With the Steeler / Bills game coming up, and a potentially wet field that favors a ground and pound game, and with Bell running on surgically repaired wheels and DeAngelo with bad wheels too, I thought I'd take a in-depth look at the running back situation.

We recently activated a guy named Darly Richardson from the practice squad about 3 weeks ago.
He is a former draft pick of the Rams.

I looked at his highlights from his Rams days, he has since been on a few other practice squads like the Jets and Texans.

I got to tell you, I was very impressed by what I saw. He hits the hole fast, and runs real hard, has excellent vision and makes good cuts on the run. You get a sense that he has the end zone on his mind on every carry. The thing that jumps out at you is how HARD he runs.

I think he is a keeper, and I hope he sticks. He only has 3 years in the league. I hope he gets some carries in the coming weeks.

The video is worth watching. He reminds me of somebody, but I can't put my finger on who.
Who does he remind you guys of? I'm thinking Marshall Faulk. He just plays so fast and runs so hard.

He's done good every time I have seen him in there for us. Especially on some of the kick returns. I think of Eric Pegram.

To tell you the honest truth, I thought of Pegram too, but I don't remember Pegram running that hard, same build though.

 

I'll always remember Richardson. Few yrs ago he was supposed to break out so I trade Matt Stafford for him in fantasy and it blew up in my face. lol

He has flashed for us too,albeit the pre season certainly is things to like but don't hold your breath on him actually seeing any action......for some reason they are in love with the mediocrity of Toussaint

I'd hope they can mix in some fresh legs... Wouldn't mind seeing him carry a few, but bell ain't coming off of the field.

 

if the weather is bad and the running game is a must
we have to play all of the rb
hope DWill is getting healed and fresh
could be what we need
fingers crossed we have a full stable of horses for once back there

 

I haven't seen anything to suggest Richardson is an upgrade from Toussaint. It's good to have depth at RB though.

 

They've both showed some cool moments albeit Touissant in real time... Having a healthy D Will would be amazing tho

Not sure what other people are watching but your right Bell is not coming off the field. When he fumbled in the Giants game I wondered it he was not getting too may carries,,
