I think the NFL brass instructs the officials to keep the game close. Under two minutes & the officials don't know what to do.

I don't think they are honestly concerned about the horrendous officiating that seems to,get worse each year. They don't "miss" calls as obvious as some of the ones we've seen recently. They just don't "make" the calls that everyone with a functional pair of eyes can see. They only try to address the problem if there is public outcry and scrutiny. Look at the JJ catch. Public outcry =change the rule. It's all part of their plan to
" steer" games in a certain direction. Screw us last year with JJ . Try to appease Steeler Nation by calling a season high in penalties against NE in our game against them. Don't worry we'll make up for it in NO next week. There are just too many calls that aren't made that are so obvious,it's hard not to question their intent. The non PI call against NO the ref is standing right there. You don't just miss that.
We all recognize that a flag can be called on almost every play. So is it that hard to imagine them picking and choosing which ones to call and when? NEs OL never holds? The 5 PI penalties all season? They were holding KC WRs all over the field last week. The list goes on...

Goodell works for the owners. You think the owners would stand for all this cheating you're suggesting, Come on. It doesn't make sense. If all this stuff was true the owners would clean house.

Cleaning house is what is needed in the officiating department.

I don't think games are fixed by the league but you do have to wonder about the integrity of the individual ref. It boggles the mind how that PI wasn't called in the Rams/Saints game.

Adding fuel to the fire is a report that the officiating crew was from Souther California. League usually avoids having local refs officiating games but somehow let that crew do the game.

You never know when it comes to individual refs, but this nonsense that the NFL is fixing games is just stupid.

Funny how we haven't heard a peep out of the NFL offices about the botched calls in both championship games. So funny...all quiet on the Goodell front.

Goodell is easily the worst commissioner in all professional sports right now. And yes I know who Gary Bettman is.

Guess someone didn't understand the whole "tinfoil hat" part of your post, but anyways do I think the NFL is fixed no I don't. However if anyone gambles they know the while deal of the 1/2 point and the late TD to cover or not to cover. There have been times I have thought 100% fixed but then you ask yourself how do the other owners allow the same team to win?

I do agree that there are penalties on every NFL play especially holding yet some teams never get called. And then there is the whole thing of one official doing important games with a history of favorable calls on that team. For example there was a report of one official in the NE/KC who was the guy in charge of checking the air in the deflate gate game and a few other favorable calls for the Pats. How does the NFL allow this, that right there opens the door to all this talk.

Let me go I need to get caught up on my xfiles shows........lol
