D-lineman signed Esezi Otomewo

5th rounder for the Vikings in 2022. Was with the jags the last couple of seasons. Not much but depth.

His strength is the run. Much better grade that Ogunjobi who is now suspended 6 games by NFL

 

282 lbs is really light for a DT.

 

seems like a trend for them lately. leal 290. loudermilk 293 + he's 6-7. cam 295. lee 286. lowry 296. ekuale is just 300. not a lot of 300+ guys that have been brought in. even benton is 309 and adams 304. none of these guys are giants.

 

More speed maybe

 

My understanding is that DE in a 3-4 go somewhere between 280 - 310 lbs., in order to balance agility with the bulk needed to occupy two linemen as needed.

I am sure he will be good against the run, because Esezi Otomewo is an anagram for “Seize me too, wo!”
It used to be the kickers. I remember when the hardest name to spell in football was Jan Stenerud. Then Garo Yepremian.

 

Abdul Carter of Penn State may go top five according to some. He only weighs 250. I bet he is 30 pounds heavier when he reports to camp. He did switch from OLB to edge, maybe he will switch back and not have to bulk up as much. Seems athletic enough to do it.
