Anyone else watching this guy. I'm not saying watch his highlights or stats. Seriously watch every single snap he plays and he makes the same mistake EVERY friggin time!!!! Ball is snapped then he studder steps or pauses. Everytime!!! Studder step Dupree I'm calling him. You see the rest of the line attacking while he is .5 seconds delayed. When the ball is run he gets driven off the ball even by backup tight ends because he is studder stepping or delaying. This is junior varsity bull crap.
I'm not saying he is a bust obviously but until he corrects this he is going to be garbage. His athleticism may have made up for it before but this is the nfl. Tell studder step Dupree to FIRE OFF THE FRIGGIN BALL!!!

He is over thinking things it happens to rookie when they play inside their heads and don' t want to make mistakes at 100 mph. Good to see that you don't have unrealistic expectations though.

Probably one of the guys who's always calling for rookies to play immediately and deal with the growing pains, yet never really want to deal with the growing pains.

Totally not that guy. I realize he's a late first rounder so he isn't supposed to be all that crazy good yet. He's a raw talent. But come on man. This right here is pee wee league football. You fire off the ball when it is snapped. Studder stepping or pausing is only letting you get ran over in run blocking and slows the pass rush. I don't expect him to an all pro but this is just basic football fundamentals

I haven't been watching, so I will take your word, but the first step is what makes the great ones. Not the first half dozen.

I think it's way too early for this kind of diagnosis, especially still being the preseason. That said, I don't see him having happy feet on every play, but yeah, I've seen it on occasion.

It's weird. It's either happy feet or a delayed rush. Like he is watching the play and then going. I am 100 percent positive it will be corrected in time by our awesome coaches probably before mid season but this is one thing that is going to set him back if not corrected.

I didn't watch the whole game and admit wasn't watching real close when I was. But it seems like Dupree made some tackles and had some pressure. Maybe I just tuned in at the right time.

Hmmm, I was just thinking that had started looking a lot better and more active in the past two games.

The apple doesn't fall to far from the tree, those of you hoping for vast changes from DL to Butler will probably be disappointed. I'm sure Butler isn't implementing Defense For Dummies, there is probably still a lot of thinking going on out there.

I think about someone like M. Bryant, who looked lost in preseason last year, before becoming a monster midway through the regular season. Or how little Heyward played his first two years, to the point where a few people were calling him a bust. And then he turned it on last year.

I'd think that the Steelers have a similar plan for Dupree (who did not have a linebacker coach in college). This year would be to break down his bad habits, work on his fundamentals, and get him to learn more moves and techniques. If he develops enough to make a meaningful contribution later this year, that would be a bonus.
