Seem very similar to me. I thought he could be our Edelman long before Ben said it.

Edelman is a little bigger, 2 inches and 13 pounds and averages a yard more after the catch.

Both are tough, Switzer took a big shot last year, kept playing.

I think Edelman is more a product of a system than any great talent. Much like Switzer elevated his game after coming here.

I think he will have a pretty good season. Thats why I wanted them to keep him, he just looks better with the ball in his hands than Eli did. Plus he's a better return man.

Switzer is a useful player. I don't think anybody is saying otherwise. He's quick and tough and catches the ball fairly well. The Edelman comparisons are a bit much. Of course, the system is a big part of Edelman's success, but the guy is also damn difficult to cover. I don't think Switzer is as good at getting open. Also, the size difference isn't insignificant.

The comparison just means he can be a great slot receiver for them. If he ups his production to around 800-1,000 yards, that's all that matters.

If Ben wants the same connection with him that Brady and Edelman have, he's going to try and make it happen, he already likes throwing to him.

That's a big ask for a guy who hasn't cracked 260 yards in a season yet, but hopefully having a full offseason and training camp with the team this time around will give him a big boost.

We haven't really seen what the offense is going to be yet, in large part because the coaches were too conservative in their preseason use of Roethlisberger again. Given that two of the five receivers (Moncrief and Johnson) are new arrivals and they are hoping Washington and Switzer step into larger roles this year, a little more game time with their quarterback seemed to be in order.
