Hell all of them look better than what we fielded the other night .

If this Team really cut down to NFL level talent , probably get down to about 35 or so. Don't get me wrong we have some young talent that may become NFL Level someday, but not like the days of old where we had talent all the way to the back of the roster . No doubt other Teams will cut better players than we have.

I doubt Jackson would play for the vet minimum; which is what we would need.

Plus he'll be signing to be the number 3 back, effectively.

I'd like to see an improvement on Harris - not sure how he's stuck around for so while - but ideally you don't want to see your number 3 on the field at all. So I'd stick with cheap and young for that role. Just not Harris.

Shaq Richardson has been released by the Cardinals. I'm not sure that counts as a retread, though.

CB Terence Frederick was cut by the Saints. Steelers picked him in the 7th in 2012.

Shawn Lemon was cut by the 49ers. Don't know if it was a injury settlement or not. I thought we cut him due to an injury but San Fran picked him up pretty quickly after that.

The 9ers just waived him...no injury settlement there. After getting an injury settlement, the player is immediately able to sign anywhere he pleases. I read he's fielding several offers from the CFL, though. We did give him an injury settlement, so he wouldn't be able to come back here for 6 weeks + however many weeks the settlement was for.

I am not getting this Dri Archer fascination for Tomlin, just think he is hanging on way too long with no real production....rather keep Philips as the last receiver, I like his physical play, and speed, catching ability will improve.

The horrible depth on this team has to point directly at the Front Office. We've had some pretty poor drafts of late and our good players continue to age with very few youngsters showing promise. I have to think the Colbert could be on the hot seat if we have a losing season. If true would also mean Tomlin would be on the hot seat.

they just extended each for two years. there is no doubt we will be bringing in some newbies when the cuts happen. we have no choice. our depth is pretty bad right now.

I don't think extensions mean much in the NFL. You can still be fired and the contract isn't necessarily guaranteed.

this is true MD. as most on here know, i can be quite critical of KC. the owners seem to love these two though, so i doubt they are in much trouble.

add Crezdon Butler, Wesley Johnson and Alameda Ta'amu to the list for former Steelers that have been released by their respective teams. I also saw that Vikings cut David Yankey who had at one time some high draft stock but dropped. He was supposed to be a road grader type in the running game

I have to admit, I was very high on Yankey coming out. Not sure what his deal is, but it's hard to believe he could be worse than Hubbard.

Mike Golic also cut - didn't we have him here at one point?

Some far better options at backup QB out there...

The Steelers aren't run like the Browns and Raiders, they don't fire their GM or HC after a down season.

Our drafts have declined in talent since Tomlin has been here, Ill say it again he has to much say in who we draft... Either that or he is alot worse coach even i think he is,... and i think he is a piss poor coach:cool:

Timmons, Woodley, Brown, Decastro, Pouncey, Bryant, Beachum, Heyward, Tuitt, Bryant, Bell, Gilbert, Wallace, Sanders, and I give Tomlin credit for Harrison as well since he gave him a real shot. Yeah he is so horrible at drafting. I don't know if Bellicheat has hit on that many his entire time in NE. We have a lot of could turn the corner players also like Shazier, Allen, Jones, and Wheaton. People act like the draft is the easiest thing in the world to do but when you actually look at it how many head coaches and GMs can you say consistently hit in the draft? None because even the first round all you have to go off of is college tape and there is no guarantee that it will translate into the pros. Was the 08 draft horrible yes it was but Mendy did produce for three seasons which is average for a NFL running back.

    Aha, the legendary Fonzie reposte.

I think SteelHurtin is still winning, though.
