Current Playoff situation

with the dolphins losing it really still comes down to us winning the last two games at home. By the way we played today it wont be easy. I believe we can even lose to dallas next week and still control our own destiny. Our only chance for the division is to win out and have the ravens lose out.

 

For starters, the Eagles/Bengals game next Thursday should be more interesting than one would think. It appears that the Eagles' new QB is starting to play well, so maybe they have a shot. Nothing surprises me about this season any more.

 

What happened the last time we were a 6 seed?

 

You need to stop talking crazy like this. Dont you know their are some posters that wish the Steelers dont make the playoffs? For some reason, they think it wont be worth the trouble. Myself.. I would rather make the playoffs and roll the dice.

For those that wish the Steelers dont make the playoffs.. I hear the Browns are looking for fans. After all, they never even sniff the playoffs.

 

Yeah, never understood someone hoping we don't make the playoffs, so we can have a better draft pick? Much rather watch football in January than the senior bowl!

I've given up on the division. While it's possible, it's not realistic right now. Baltimore may be overrated, but they're still a good team and I doubt they lose out. I also have my doubts we win out. As long as we beat Cinci, we should be able to sneak in. If we lose to Cinci, hope is all bust lost.

sure did.. but it still wont change the fact that they havent been to the playoffs since 2002.. when the lost to the Steelers in the wildcard game.

Play-offs will have me in some sort of cannibalistic fever! I might lose my hands!

 

If the Steelers beat the Bengals theys they will probably get in. But if the Steelers lose to Cincy, and Cincy beat Baltimore. Cincy will win the tiebreaker w/ Pit (conf record), regardless of what else happens.

 

I will gladly be some armless fool stomping my feet.. if the Steelers win every game on a last second FG, on their way to winning the superbowl.

 

Hey i hope the Steelers make the playoffs,.. Then goto and win the SB. But it seem's to me some peeps on here would be happy just getting to the playoffs. and to me,.. Just getting there is not good enough.

 

All that's left is for this team to prove they deserve to be there.

They should count their lucky stars they aren't out if it yet the way they've been playing.

If this team deserves to be in the playoffs they'll prove it and beat the Clowns and the Bungles.

If they show up like they did today then they deserve to regret their failures.

 

Doesnt matter if someone thinks they deserve to be there. The win/loss record determines who is deserving. Make the playoffs any way you can. Style points dont count for anything. I would rather they make the playoffs and have the chance of playing another game.. then not have that chance at all.

 

I agree it doesn't matter if people think they deserve to be there. They have to WANT to be there. They aren't playing like they want it.

If they deserve to be in the playoffs they will find a way to win these next few games however they can.
If they don't they'll play like crap like they did today and we'll be out.

If they don't take these games on themselves and play like they should they aren't going to make it.

 

What I find so frustrating about this team is that it seems to play down to the level of its competition. It's like they expect teams like the Raider, Browns and Chargers to just lay down because they are facing the mighty Steelers. Like another poster stated, it would be real nice if the Steelers could lay the wood on teams like the Seahawks and Giants did today. If my theory of the Steelers playing down to their competition is right they should be fine. They'll beat Dallas and Cincinnati and lose to Cleveland.

I'm one who said that if they keep playing like this, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Now that's completely different than saying I hope they don't make the playoffs. I'm hoping like crazy that they at least sneak in and have a chance to make something of it, but with they way they're playing now I don't have a lot of confidence that they'll get far if they do. I bleed black and gold, and I'm an eternal optimist, but I'm also not going to ignore the reality of what I've seen lately.
