Yes, this was a frustrating and highly dissapointing season, but on the bright side, we had a few people show up that i personally thought would be non factors and proved me wrong. below is my list

max starks: i really didn't expect much from him, especially coming off acl surgery, but not only did he have his best season, he played every game (unlike most of the o-line)

larry foote: another that may have had his best season.... definitely played over his head this yr. When i was sure he would be a major liability.

Will allen: during the off season i was calling for allen to be placed on the chopping block.. i was very down on him and considered him dead money that was better used elsewhere......somebody slap me!!!!!!!

Shaun suisham: during the pre-season i was counting the days until suisham was cut in favor of danny hrappman..... When he wasn't, i figured we would have no kicking game and initially cringed whenever suisham was sent out... i slowly let go of those fears as suisham was money week in and week out.

Anyone else have a crow buffet to partake of, feel free to add to this list.... just figured i'd try to put a positive spin on this disaster of a season.

I don't care that Max played every game. Max is not that good and I will be glad to see him go. Will Allen played as well as I guess you would expect. I guess the guy that surprised me the most is probably Redman because I actually thought he would do BETTER than he did. As far as a guy that I didn't expect to do as good I would say Timmons. I've never NOT liked him I've just never been too enthused with him. He's probably my least favorite Steeler going in to this year honestly. Now that honor goes to Mike Wallace on offense and Keenan Lewis on D because he "guaranteed" he'd be in the pro bowl and obviously he's not there. If you're not gonna put up you need to shut up.

max starks, foster and colon have no business playing here anymore. will allen played ok but he can't be trusted to stay healthy either. he's never made a full season in his life. lewis had a good season. he's been hurt but he needs to be back. 24 passes defended by him this year. thats some good work. give me matt elam all day as our #1 pick and seal up the safety spot. ILB for foote. a good mobile guard to add to the mix and a tackle. RB with some speed.

i dont blame Redman, Dwyer or Mendy for their inconsistant play. its tough to be very effective when you only get 8-10 carries a game and even thats not a given. i blame the coaches for not picking a starter and sticking with him. i blame Haley for running the ball less than the guy we all ran out of town because he didnt run the ball enough.

I'll throw in my harping on Troy being done. While he took most of the season to get going and get past the nagging injuries, he looks A LOT better the last two or three games, enough for me to shut up and give him another season (and I love Troy- wear his jersey).

Yep, OCs use plays that make the most of the talent and Haley found out right quick that even a full back couldn't make a run game work behing the oline we put on the field, funny how I don't hear screams about trying to run the ball anymore.
