I live close to knoxville tn and some people have said that phillip fulmer has ask the haslems about oc job. I dont really believe it because rumors take off around here like wildfires. I just thought I would see what everyone thought. he is a great o-line coach and has oc experience and head coaching experience even if it is on the college level.

Fulmer is a great man of faith and integrity. And he has a long record of molding and shaping young men to be responsible citizens. While I am a huge Phil Fulmer supporter, I'm not sure that an OC job for the Steelers would be a good fit. I'd love to see him coaching again in college though. It is an interesting discussion though! There is a connection there with Jim Haslem.

For me it is more about the players he would be coaching too set in their ways and Phil not beimng able to get them motivated to over achieve like he has done with young men in college. I know a lot of guys around Knoxville who played for him and consider him as a father figure. I'm not sure that translates as well in the NFL.

I agree with you. I admit I thought it was interesting when I heard and for a second thought might not be bad. I hated the way he got treated but I thought a change was needed. I wonder if there are any college oc or coaches that would be a good fit. I just hate the way the nfl passes coaches around.

Wow, how cool would it be for me to have kin coaching for the Steelers?? That would be freaking cool! Don't know if he'd be a good fit though.

I do have grown up men friends that will openly tell you they cried when we let Phillip go. Also the coach before Phillip was Johnny Majors who used to coach at Pitt. I think he even coached Tony Dorsett if I'm not mistaken.

He indeed coached the Hawk,And the rest of the Pitt team
to a national championship over Georgia. What a team, what a group of athletes
that came through the door at Pitt under Majors/ Sherrill from 75 to 82!
We had more talent on those teams than the U could ever think of having.
