It's been driving me nuts. I have no idea what time the game starts. I thought 1 pm now I heard it's 6:40. I can dig that time though. We play better at night.

    :herewego!:

Yeah, my wife calls me Hank once in a while. :lolol: It's not for everyone, but I've used an Obihai box with Google Voice for a home phone for years and it's completely free. We bought our own modem because the cable company started "leasing" the one we had for years to us.

I've wondered about those Google and Amazon things. Do they actually work good? Like you can just tell it what to do and it will do it?

I'm not sure we're on the same page. The thing I use for our landline is this: http://amzn.to/2jIJlT4

Mine's an older model, but it's basically the same.

AHHHHHHH I thought you were talking about that thing they show commercials for here recently. I didn't even know the thing that you're talking about even existed.

Basically a more accessible version of Doctor Who for an American audience in a lot of ways.

Really? I didn't know that. Never saw Dr. Who but I wondered what all the hubbub was about that show.

Not exactly like it but basically Doctor Who is also a time traveling show. The thing is with it though is that it has different people playing the Doctor on different series. I think they're on maybe about the 13th or 14th Doctor at this point and the show has been on since the 60's. It's huge in Europe and has a devout cult fanbase here as well.

They actually started out in round tin containers like cookie tins. Ah those were the days. And school was so much easier back then for us because they didn't have history as a subject yet. ;)

It's when newspaper stories are basically reporting comments from social media that gets me.

I was about to chuck out our old phone last year, then there was a power cut across the whole area for 3 days, and the old phone was the only way of communicating with anyone to know what was going on. So now that phone is in the emergency survival box with the torch, canned tuna, second child etc.

My survival kit would consist of probably Citizen Kane, Wes Montgomery's Smokin' at the Half Note, Usagi Yojimbo, a few MIB action figures, Dark Souls, and Mario 3. I would pretty much be set for life. Until I starved/thirsted to death.

Are you a fan of the Good Doctor? Did you watch that Who event where they animated the first ever episode shot for shot with word for word dialog and aired it a few months ago?

So when the Steelers make it to the Big Game this year - this will be your first - right BFT? ;) You are youthful with an old soul my friend. We like this youth movement with the team and its fan base. Me and FanForLife are keeping up the Sentinel since the Rock Around the Clock 50's (1950's not 1850's). My poor Dad had Forbes Field/Pitt Stadium season tickets with the worse teams in Steeler history from late 40's through 1964 (when we headed west in a Conestoga to LA LA Land). This was our nag >:beathorse:

I hope the Pats are just as confused and they show up way late after game is forfeited to the Black and Gold. I'll take it - that will help our D scoring avg with a 2-0 final score. :drinks:

That's why you MUST include a 6 pak of YooHoo in your survival kit young man.

Didn't catch that. I dip in and out. Always liked the Sylvester McCoy series. The series written by Russell T Davies got a bit ridiculous, but like the Stephen Moffat ones.

Every so often there are episodes that blow me away - like Blink, Heaven Sent. In fact the last series was pretty good all round.

The 70s episodes have their own charm...

The version I watched was the Christopher Eccleston one from like 12 years ago. I actually liked it pretty good but have never been able to get in to the series too much because it's one of those things that just has such a rich history it's hard to keep up with it all.

I had a really trusted friend tell me you can't force Dr. Who you have to come to it naturally in your own time.

Yeah it's an acquired taste like jazz. The people that love it really love it but you hardly ever find anyone that's just sorta middle of the road with it.

    Yeah, that sounds right.

However... the episode "Blink" can be watched without any background. The Doctor isn't actually in it (well, he's in it very briefly). Strongly recommend it!

"Heaven Sent" similarly, though it's more obviously part of a story arc. They're both great standalone TV (imo).
