I was thinking the same thing. I see it done in MLB trades, teams trading cash with players. That would be some creative trading and if allowed would help lessen the blow.

I just want him out at this point.

I don't think that is allowed in the NFL.

it's only a 6 or 7 million cap hit , been explained on here 6 or 7 million times, in one of the 6 or 7 million AB threads

i wasn't sure about that. i knew some teams made trades and a portion of the players salary stayed or said team payed a portion of it. wasn't the haden trade like that? didn't the browns have to pay a portion of it?

The acquiring team steps into the former team's shoes as regards the player's contract. The former team can sweeten the deal by sending the player to the new team along with a bag of cash (which would be applied against the player's salary).

The "dead money" portion of the contract -- typically bonus money and any restructuring -- stays with the former team. It's prorated for that team, but it all gets accelerated into the next year when the player is released or traded.

So the 49ers, for example, would assume the outstanding aspects of Brown's contract (2019-2021 salary). The Steelers retain the impact of his bonus and restructuring, both of which had been prorated over the life of his contract (2017-2021) but would be accelerated to 2019.

And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom

I do my best to avoid the $$$$ aspect of sports and really don't understand it nor do I want to but I'm hoping AB and L. Bell free up the dollars so we can get some needed help with free agency and a good draft.

Not sure if losing both of them helps with the money side of things. It really bothers me that both are great players but are all about me me me. Seems that Super Bowl ring is meaningless to both players. They just want those stats to go up so they can demand the money. The **** sickens me and the older I get the more it leads me away from sports.

With both of them we couldn't win. Maybe they saw that reality a lot quicker than we did.
