Once the Steelers get under the salary cap

They will sign Steve Breaston his agent and Steelers GM Kevin Colbert are meeting this week at the combine. The Steelers will be making cuts in the next 2 weeks get rid of the dead weight veterans who make too much money but don't produce. They have to get under the salary cap by March 12 approximately 14 million over right now.

We may get a hometown discount on Breaston if he wanted to. Friend of mine used to be the superintendent at Woodland Hills where Breaston attended High School, I think that is the correct name of the school. Matter in fact he I and three of my Marines went to Cincy in I think 1989 or 1990. Watched the Steelers loose and had a long ride back to Connellsville. While we were watching the game, our unit was mobilized to go to Operation desert Shield. No Cell phones were common in those days. We found out when we got back.
Breaston may want to play for his hometown team. Without a discount I doubt we see him. The superintendent was also one of the Sr. Enlisted guys in the reserve outfit. What pissed me off is I was the Active Duty 1st Sergeant and I had to send them guys and was not allowed to go with them

Yes, CS- Woodland Hills. They came over into Ohio to play a road game in Steubenville. He gave the home team fits. You had that feeling you would be seeing this guy on TV.

I'm pulling for the old 'hometown discount', too.

The possibility of playing for a proven winner-the chance of sniffing a ring- could be huge.

He had a 1k season in 08. Wasn't that with Kurt? ya know..the only QB worth mentioning in the Cardinals in recent history.

Ed Bouchette reports that the Steelers won't be signing Breaston in the immediate future. Perhaps his price tag is higher than what the Steelers were desiring.

Sign Plax, he'll be cheaper and probably do just as good a job.

Exactly...anyone who expect them to sign him right off the bat are crazy. They'll try and get a few of their guys done and then go from there like they usually do.

You can't possibly know that since we have no idea how much they will be under the cap when it's all said and done. If all they could do is offer him the vet minimum, they never would have brought him in here in the first place.

they could have sayd ,look this is what we can offer let's say 4 years 4 milion , more or less like a vet min a year , that's if we have some money later , so when you go around if nobody offer you a lot more think about it .they will finda breaston level of guy with that money after the final cuts or maybe they are waiting to see what happen to sanders after the tender
