They make money if the nfl makes money. You may have some going against but they get a cut of the media contract there is profit sharing blah balh.

    Fine.

Bell HAD weed there. No one saw Tom say deflate the balls.

That lady's and gentlemen is called a loophole. Implied suggested encourged, it doesn't mean I pulled the trigger. Cheats do it by proxy not themselves.

That's not a loophole. It may be lack of evidence , but not a loophole.
And we've seen in the past the NFL don't need evidence to suspend someone.

This may have been discussed already , but I read a stat that said the Patriots fumbled the ball 1 out of every 80 touches. And the rest of the NFL was 1 out of every 45.

I have not read this whole thread so if I post something that was brought up by someone I am sorry. I do not know all the ins and outs of this case but what my opinion is is this:

Deflate gate---Bounty gate, same thing! Did it change what happened on the field I personally don't think so but that's just my opinion. The Saints got hammered with the punishment why cause they did something that was a black eye for the league. The NFL came down with a still penalty so nobody would do this again. That is what needs to happen here from top to bottom.

Based on past punishment given to teams in the league for breaking the rules this is what I feel should happen:

    Kraft.......fined 500k
    Belicheat.....suspended 1 year
    Brady.......4-8 game suspension
    Pat's Team......docked 1st round pick in 2016

The punishment given to the Saints set's this up as well as other punishments like docking draft picks from the Cowboys and Redskins. Conduct suspensions for several players is what I based Brady's suspension on.

Again this is JMO, but I feel if your the NFL you can't pick and choose which teams you penalize and which you don't. Look at the headlines the last few days the NFL is getting a black eye on this, when the local news has this as a story you know it is bad!

I see what you did there. I'm just saying what Mr. Specter brought up about the tapes being destroyed. I didn't just pull that out of thin air.

Yeah I pretty much agree with this. NFL needs to do something, and the Pats are repeat offenders so it makes sense to punish the entire organization. Brady I think is first time offender, but still should get suspended a few games.

I think it not handing out any punishment at all would be a much greater black eye upon the league than the actual Deflategate itself.

What I find really funny are all the Patriots fans that are suddenly experts in the science of atmospheric pressure and temperature fluctuations.

One professor (a homer if you will) makes the claim, based on science I'll give him that, that the temperature was the culprit. Somehow he misses the entire point of how it was just those 11 that were that far out of tolerance and not all of them. Now that's the going defense.

He's got the great climatoligist Robert Kraft on his side. I saw him recently repeating that warm weather vs. cold weather nonsense as if it were gospel.

Yes but let us not forget the Colts footballs were inflated with Indiana air and the whole world knows the air is different in New England. *Green font not necessary

Hopefully Art 2.0 is as adamant about Goodell suspending Tom Brady as he was about Goodell suspending Ben.

Brady and Patriots not only cheated, they cheated in the AFC Championship game, then lied about it, demanded an apology, failed to fully cooperate with the investigation, and are working to discredit the investigation.

    1. Cheating
    2. Cover up
    3. Defiance

Any other player or team would get slammed for this behavior. Hell even the Cowboys and Redskins got bent over when they exceeded the league's unofficial cap limit during supposedly uncapped years.

Good points. Add into that this isn't a court of law and we don't need proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and you can add in a bunch of stuff that is definitely true, even if we can't prove it. Stuff like:

    1. It wasn't just that game, it was every game. That wasn't their first time cheating.
    2. Brady wasn't just aware of it, he was behind it. He doesn't take NFL advice from ball boys or let them tamper with his equipment for fun or to be nice. This was his call.
    3. Belichick knew. I'd be shocked if he didn't. And if he really didn't, than he should have, and should be punished like Payton, because the buck stops with him.

One more thing that we can prove: this is their (Patriots, Brady, Belichick) 4th Super Bowl, and their 4th Super Bowl tainted by cheating. That is just so unfair to every other team and player it's ridiculous. The NFL should do the right thing and put an asterisk on everything official. But since they won't, they need to come down that much harder on those involved. What would satisfy me (besides officially removing all Super Bowl wins from the Pats) would be full-year suspensions for the QB and coach, plus removal of a 1st round pick and a fine for the owner - who may not have been a part of #1, but definitely participated in #s 2 and 3.

What I'd really like is for NFL circles to not adopt a "And let's never speak of this again" attitude like they did with Spygate.

Well Snack, I think your wish list is extreme for the league to impose even if the offender was one of the 31 teams not lucky enough to have an unlimited stash of get out of jail free cards from the commish. I think there will be a suspension because of the cover up, but it will be only Brady, and for maybe 2 games - plus a 5 or 6 figure fine. There may also be a 6th or 7th round pick forfeiture. As guilty as they look, the evidence is still pretty circumstantial, and the league screwed up enough in handling/documenting things back in January to cast more doubt.

When all is said and done after appeals, I fully expect Brady on the field opening night, and the league looking even dumber.

With Bell out, I don't care if anyone thinks it cheapens the win, either. We could use the help during #26's suspension.

Of course the Boys in Black & Gold could get beaten without Brady, because the rest of the Patriots would be out to prove a point. That would suck to have to live down the rest of the season. "You guys were given a Brady-less Pats team and still lost." SMH....

I believe the report is intentionally completely vague which leaves a wide open door for Brady to get absolutely no suspension at all.

I'd like to see him get a year suspension and have an * next to every accomplishment that he has been credited with but the report is a complete joke that doesn't hold water. Been listening to sprts talk radio and apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I can see him getting a $100 K fine and another slap on the wrist. Roger and Kraft will see to it that he plays in the home opener against the Steelers.
