Anyone think the Steelers will make Sanders an offer or try to extend Cotchery before the season starts? If so, which one(s) and for how much??

I would like to see them resign Sanders before the season starts. As to how much money it's going to cost I think they're waiting to see how much money they have after shopping the waiver wire for OL help.

Cotch has less than 500yds in 27 games with only 2tds as a Steeler. I honestly can't understand why people think he's so good. That's just my opinion about him.

I think you have to look at the time he is on the field in order to get a feel for how well he has done...

They dont use him much but with Mr Faithful out ( Heath) they may start to use him more often

Honestly when I think back to last season there was not much excitement offensively. Dull and boring comes to mind.

They'd miss his leadership more then his production but I can't see keeping him over one of the young guys if it comes to that.

I've heard a lot of the players talk about his leadership but it's weird for me that guys can produce little and lead a lot ya know? You would think that these players with huge egos would throw his stats up as proof that he's not all that.

They aren't trading Cotchery he will be the 3rd receiver playing the slot Todd Haley said. The Steelers aren't that loaded at receiver to be trading one what if they have a injury at that position. I could Wheaton being the 4th receiver and maybe Justin Brown the 5th, all those other guys are training camp scrubs.

Woods is no scrub, he still had a productive season behind Stedman Bailey and Austin and a scrub doesn't make the catches he hauled in last week.

Not doubting you at all, but do you happen to have a link to where Haley said that Cotchery would be the #3 reciever? I'd like to read anything else he might of said about the recievers.

    thanks !!

Haley also said that Wheaton is a guy that can play the slot as well as outside the numbers. Cotch is not indispensable by any means.

So in the context of your discussion we are keeping 4 receivers or five. I only ask because if we keep 5 I would rather have Brown then Woods

I am Bman and I approve this message lol

I am with Scruffy, I don't have the link but I also read the same thing. I believe it was on BR, I thought he said the slot to be exact. I will look for the prized link.

I read the article too where Haley said Cotchery was the 3rd receiver.

I agree. How much noise are you going to listen to from a guy who can't get a fraction of the production that you can? I know he had some middle of the road seasons with the jets, but anyone who's putting up good numbers don't care what he has to say. Maybe some rookie.
