Exactly. I see us drafting at least two corners next years. Hopefully one will be before the 5th round.

If we don't resign Worilds do you still see us drafting 2 early corners?

They still have a lot of time to sign Heyward, he's under contract thru 2015.

That's a lot better! Practically down to $5M/year from $6.5M/year. I can definitely live with that.

We should have kept them both and told Ike to hit the bricks.

Why BFT? Gay always does a good job. I hear his name called more in preseason then most. People seem to talk about how they dislike Gay . I just don't see it.

GAy is the whipping boy. He's been vilified a lot because he was often left out of position trying to make up for Clark and Ike. So when you look a play it looks like it was his man that beat him clean. Not the case most times he was supposed to have help and it didn't come, so he looked like a fool.

Agree with this. Is this a reaction to allowing Keenan Lewis to walk? Cortez seemed to regress a little last season but I do think he has potential.

You got that right! Gay should be starting over Taylor.

Lewis wanted to go play in his hometown, the Steelers didn't have a chance.

Wow, if you are even close to serious as to having Big Play William Gay as our #1 CB we are in big, big, big, trouble...

Taylor gets burnt a lot ,but Gay would make Taylor look like Sherman if he had to guard the #1's. Trust me we don't want Gay in that role, not now and not ever.

And once again Gay shows up and plays a good game. But people have in their mind he should not be covering #2 receivers. I like his play and especially today against the browns

Please. He's been vilified because when he was a starter, he turned in some of the worst performances in memory. He was like Dwayne Washington, minus the good plays. He was absolutely horrendous. Before that, when he was a #3/#4, he was fine. Since he's been working with Carnell Lake, he's actually been a very good #3. But don't act like people aren't justified by never wanting to see this guy cover a good receiver. It hasn't gone well in the past.

Um, today is an absolutely perfect example. He played great against the backup receivers on the team with maybe the worst receivers in the league. How do you think he'd do against Josh Gordon, if he was in? The same? I'm not trying to knock the guy, but saying he'd be better than Ike is really nothing more than a wild guess until we actually see him face top competition. As bad as Ike has been since he got old, he's not as bad as Gay was when he was the starter here.

That said, he still might be better than Ike if they switched roles. It's possible. And by this time next year I bet that's probably the case. He's definitely still getting better, an impressive feat for someone his age.

I would not breath easy with Willie replacing Ike.

    Get queasy just posting it.

Good breakdown of the contract by TTF on the main page. I am surprised that this deal makes him the 17th highest paid corner in the league. I had figured the money put him somewhere in the 25 - 30 range.

Hopefully it ends up being a great signing overall. As far as heyward, or Worilds goes, I truly believe Heyward is a must sign and that even if Worilds has a great year and they try to sign him, he'll leave for bigger bucks. In all honesty, the next couple signings in the next couple years could be scary for the cap with heyward and Ben and I hope they don't go Woodley crazy on a deal for Worilds should he choose to stay.

I got a feeling if they keep worilds again it would be the tag. if we have the money after these other signings. if not worilds may become our next keenan lewis I'm afraid. maybe moats can fill the void until they decide which way to go or a new draft pick is ready. JJ will be going into his 3rd year by then, hopefully he can develop like they think.
