In hindsight, it's a shame we didn't tie him up with a contract last summer. Could you imagine the savings the Steelers would have enjoyed! He would be making 1 million a season based on last year's performance.
I think he did come in to his own this year, but he is still an average CB at this point...nothing more. He had a few good games and a few horrible games. At the end of the season, he wasn't picked on as much because opposing QBs had other newbies to victimize. Don't get me wrong...I'd still like to sign him, but I wouldn't mind getting a CB in the second round or so of the draft. Or, perhaps, a solid free agent (not overpriced superstar).

In today's passing crazy NFL, you really need thee good corners, two starters and an extra corner against passing situations and passing teams. I would like to see Ike, Lewis, and Allen be the three and that trio would be close to the league best secondary.

Well crap thses guys make it hard to be optimisitic. I hope we can at least keep Allen then given he's a restricted free agent. Given that I feel so sorry for the poor millionare players, playing for the greatest franchise in sports. They have all the perks and money taht comes with their jobs and still they b!tch. They have earned the right to enjoy themselves but I hate it when they act like there oppressed.

It's easy to distinguish between the two. When the comments are positive, they're about Cortez Allen. If they aren't, they're about Will Allen.

Will started playing better with more snaps. You have to remember he replaced Mundy, who was terrible! Mundy should have been cut last year!

I don't think Ike is "expandable" -- you need your corners too be svelte so they can run with the receivers in this league. Because of his age, I think it's all the more reason he isn't "expandable." It's harder to take off as you get older.

I don't think Ike is expendable either. He's our #1 corner and he's a damn good corner in this league.

I think we need to lock up Keenan AND Cortez. I don't think we have a choice. We've got shoe laces and Gatorade buckets backing them up. And, as someone mentioned earlier, you need three solid corners in this league as the modern NFL offense has three-to-four wide receiver sets. Cortez Allen just shut down A.J. Green in the most important game of the year. With that performance alone he earned himself a contract extension.

Didn't AJ Green make the catch that put the Bengals in position to win the game? Not saying I don't like Allen. I'm just saying that when it mattered he didn't come through in that situation. But I DO think he DEFINITELY and EASILY has the best ball skills of ANY of our corners.
