She is like "who the heck are you".

She then drove away in a van with a Ravens sticker on it.

Now that she's free you think she might make a good OC? How about giving Haley her job?

Sometimes the smallest gesture makes the greatest impact! I just made that up but I'm sure someone more intelligent than I has said it before. Either way it is true.

Eh, call me cynical but this is just a PR move. Why were the cameras there? If this were genuine you would never know about it. It's a publicity stunt probably orchestrated by the Steelers.

If you live locally like I do, the Steelers are
bigger than anyone can imagine. THEY OWN
this town, even though we have 2 other professional
teams, the cult loving Pens and the Pirates. The
Steelers are always in the forefront. Nice job Mike,
make somebody's day. Keep that steeler machinery
    humming.

I'm not sure publicising something is incompatible with its sincerity. Of course it was PR - Tomlin is a consummate PR coach - but that doesn't mean that he hadn't had that conversation with the crossing guard the week before, or, more importantly, that the crossing guard didn't get a kick out of the visit and an affirmation of their role.

I actually thought about this very thing when I was watching it but then I was like "well if I put that a lynch mob might form against me." LOL. But maybe they took the cameras to preserve the moment for her ya know? I will give Tomlin the benefit of the doubt on this one but YOU a cold and heartless miser who only sees the worst in folks Bobby! Bah humbog! LOL!!!

Agreed. The world we live in Bobby, everything is recorded. I'm sure she will love having it to show to her family and friends.

Oh there is no doubt that it was a nice thing to do, but it didn't have to involve video documentation. He could have just as easily done that without all of the fanfare. To me its a narcissistic move to video it. Not that its a bad thing, the world needs narcissists. IMO it would been a lot more genuine if he had simply given her the stuff w/o all of the extras. But overall still a nice thing to do.

Ha, I knew you'd agree with me on this one.

Im not worried about a lynch mob though, Im pretty sure that I could out run it. :lolol:

I don't think Im seeing the worst, just for what it really is. Nothing against Tomlin or the Steelers. I think they genuinely wanted to do something nice for the lady but also figured that they could piggyback some good PR while doing it.

OBVIOUSLY pre-meditated, since the jersey OBVIOUSLY had her name sewn on already. Shameless plug OBVIOUSLY. But still a cool gesture.

I wouldn't really call a short video on steelers.com a fanfare. He could also be doing this kind of thing every day, of course... :smiley1:

LOL, exactly. Bobby, if it's you or me or some other nobody joe shmoe, then yeah, just do the deed but I think coming from the coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, that this gesture is a 100 times better then if he just did it like you said.

The Steelers are kind of a big deal there I think, could be wrong, I'm sure she is loving having that documented. It's not like the Steelers are really gaining anything from that awesomely spectacular PR move :lolol:

Awww, so heartwarming to see things like this.

You go, Carol! Wave that Terrible Towel with pride on your last day! Wait, what? You're not allowed to do it? Well, what are they gonna do? Fire you? [IMG]

Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement. :herewego!:

Is there anything else on to watch? Honestly, I think people lose sight of the point here and I thought about this because of what I had heard Dez Bryant had done the other day. If you hadn't heard, Dez was standing in line at a Walmart to buy a PS4. There were 4 other people waiting with him and he ended up paying for everyone's PS4. There was a discussion about this being a PR stunt. Who cares! Think of what it meant to the people on the receiving end. Those 4 in line were surely grateful and I bet the crossing guard is the same. I certainly could not care less!

I kinda thought that too that maybe they filmed it to let her have the video forever. Also I bet that since you're from Iowa that you must watch Little House on the Prairie CONSTANTLY. It is really awesome but Michael Landon's haircut in Highway to Heaven is much better. I'm sure you agree.

My very first impression of him was that he is an articulate communicator.I had no idea what kind of NFL experience he had until his Bio came out in hiss first news conference. I do think he can do a better job with different position coaches except for DL.
