Controversial, but Omar Khan and possibly Tomlin should be terminated if they fail to sign a QB

You have to have good scouting but from there I don’t trust Tomlins decision making on QBs. Him and Colbert brought us Rudolph and Pickett.

Hopefully Khan and Weidl have better minds and will make the right decision.

I feel though that if you think there is someone that can be the guy then you almost have to take them in the first rd. None of these guys are likely to last until the 3rd except maybe Shough and even he might not.

Or maybe they trade back as has been discussed.

It tells me that after having Fields for a season they weren’t sold. I agree. Best of luck to him, but I am skeptical.

According to a few articles… Fields didn’t want to stay in Pittsburgh. Steelers offered him a solid deal. I don’t blame Fields for leaving with the way they treated him like he had cooties at the end of last season.
Same with Russ, the way Steelers are putting him at bottom of list, I wouldn’t resign. Problem is, nobody else but the Steelers want Russ

Depends on who you mean. Dart will be the third off the board, then hopefully Milroe (because I have no interest in him), after that maybe Ewers, but that's often been mid- to late-third, leaving Shough and Howard as well.

But that's me remembering tendencies in the mocks I've seen. I haven't looked carefully at each team possible wanting a QB and their needs.

Not sure Dart will be 3rd. He may be 2nd.

I am still not sold on this current coaching staff developing a qb.
I maybe wrong, as usual, but if the past is any indication, I would be correct

Yeah, if Shady Sanders starts a slide.

Alright, so you're the GM. At 21 you've got Sanders and Dart still on the board. Let's say Grant and Harmon, too. And Barron.

    What's your move?

Grant for the win… Steelers won’t and are incapable of developing a qb with current staff

I don't think Sanders will fall to #21, I'm not that interested in him anyway.

I'm not either unless the club is insistent on the QB starting quickly. Dart will take at least a year of transitioning to a pro system, IMO. I do think Sanders could start quickly; I just doubt how much ceiling he has.

    Funny

Just today I read an article that part of the reason the Jets signed Fiekds was because the Steelers in the short time they had had helped correct several of his problem areas

Grant or Barron. Probably Grant. Not one of those QBs at #21.

I think I'd go Grant. If he was off the board I'd lean toward Barron, but I like Harmon as well. But if Grant were gone I'd entertain trading down for the right return.

    Agree on the QBs.

    I have to agree here.

I think it's Tomlin pushing for Rodgers, when if they hadn't maybe they hold onto Fields and bring another draft pick in behind him as well. He's hinted at him since the SB. I don't like his tendency to fixate on a player and not see the full picture.

You have to draft one with some upside because you keep getting picks in the 20's and you can't hold out hope that you either get lucky in a future draft or have to mortgage the farm of picks to move up for someone that might not pan out anyway.

Barron, all day and every day. Day one starter if need be. Much DL talent this year.
Get our QB in 2026 after we go 7-10 in 2025. Thanks MT/Khan/ Art ll you guys are underperforming.

It would not surprise me if Rogers retires in the next few weeks.
So, this season could get ugly and that's certainly not a dig at Mason as he will play to his best ability.
But a good position in the draft maybe a just reward.

I think I’m taking Sanders in that scenario.

Funny, I was just coming to post this whenI saw yours. It is an interesting dilemma. One of these top lineman are much more likely to succeed then any of the iffy QBs available this year.

You can have an anchor on the line for the next decade or roll the dice on a QB with questionable skills simply because its the most important position.

Agreed, they did. He went from having no interest and obtained for a 6th rd pick to a 40 million dollar contract.

That was based solely on his play from last season.

If you love a QB and believe he can be “the guy,” you take him. You don’t roll the dice in the 1st round if you don’t have any conviction that he’s the guy. I would be fine with rolling the dice in the 3rd or later. QBs taken after the 1st round are generally viewed by NFL execs as “maybe he’s the guy” types.
