Steelers really don't have great skilled players on offence but we still stay in games. When we had the great skilled players on O we didn't take advantage of it.

I am more than comfortable with Snell, Samuels and the new kid Whyte(sp) so as far as I am concerned we need to let Conner heal up and get 100% before we play him. So Conner may beed surgery that tells me he needs time and keep sending him out there isn't helping that.

Let conner heal up and be ready for the next game! (Insert scrub here) will do enough.

    Hey NY STEELERFAN.

I like Connor. I know that he wants to play. And what I am about to say is out of frustration but I am sick of his injuries. He is what we need now. Unfortunately, he is not going to be available again it looks like. The whole season has been a big mess with: injuries, player departures, player under-usage (TEs, we can control this one). All which happened overnight.

I talked about Whyte when he came aboard a few weeks ago. More specifically his speed 10.5 seconds for the 100 meter dash. That is Willie Parker type fast. If we can get this guy open in the flats he can burn. As a track coach, I always like speed. I know that it does not always transfer into football production but it definitely is a positive!

I would "insert scrub here" I am more than confident in Snell, Samules and the new kid. Having said that I have read many posts asking why the new kid didn't see the ball much in the second half. That Whyte kid ran the ball pretty well last week I thought........:smiley1:

Steelwinds, I get what you are saying about Conner and your frustration, however I loved that we drafted Snell. I think Snell is a good runner and has a chance to be the "bell cow" that we need when Conner goes down. If you are gonna preach next man up like MT does then I feel you have to have a good next man up. I think Snell is that and like you say Whyte can be that change of pace back with the HR threat. I know as we get later in the season the running game get more important and I am starting to like this group even without Conner. When and if Conner comes back that is icing on the cake........

    Hey NY.

Yeah, I am also, getting frustrated with the "our line is not built for running" excuse. Well they better figure it out because Bell is gone with his finesse style. Bottom line, the season is trudging on and we have to make do with what we got. Good coaches know how to adjust both when given time and on the fly. Something, this entire coaching staff does not seem to do well with. Shoot, just look at the first game of the season. I know that NE was a tough first game. However, we had months to plan and laid a complete egg. Just disgusting as I say.

I would much rather have a healthy Snell for the whole game than try and put Conner in and after a couple of carries he comes off the field with another injury. I would rest Conner for the remainder of the season and let him heal up for next year. Who knows he might even stay healthy for a few quarters next season.

From what Conner says his shoulder needs to heal or he will have to have surgery.

I doubt he plays, trufuthlly Snell ran well, throw in some Samuels on 3rd down, play Edmunds or Wythe.

I like Wythe, he has a little more burst to him of speed than the rest of the running back crew.

Conner is going to be a problem. Never ever play a whole season. I sure do miss the Bus!! The NFL tries to make the game safer for players yet the injury bug is just as bad as in the past.

I wish I knew what the coaches know. Then I could rip them for not utilizing all our athletes to the best of their ability. Speed kills. So why not get Whyte the ball? If he doesn't know the offense well enough, then get creative to get him the ball in space and let him loose. The kid isn't a factor right now and won't be game-planned by the opposition. He and his speed, if used properly, could sneak up on a defense that isn't ready for him.

And I agree 100% about JC. I love the kid. He's passionate about the game while still being humble. He doesn't have a mouth full of gold teeth or spend all his time on social media trying to be something other than a football player. But he just isn't durable. And that makes him a liability. It sucks, but that's the reality of it.

    Hey The Glory Days.

Out of the three things that I mentioned, it is probably the lack of the usage of the TEs that is really the one that is "teeing" me off the most. Yes, Connor is injured. Yes, Bell and Brown are gone. However, the TEs are here, healthy and have, especially McDonald, been here for a while. Also, Vannett must surely know the "O" by now. This is the same coaching staff from last year so why the issues of not using the TEs? I am completely baffled by this. Especially, with the young QB situation and how helpful the TEs could be to the QB in so many ways.

Once again, incompetency rears its ugly head with this coaching staff. Then again like you stated: "I wish I knew what the coaches know". Maybe something is going on with the TEs? I doubt it though except back to the lack of X and O Knowledge/Basic implementation Ideas/Creativity with this coaching crew. They know what Vance and Vannett can do. In general, they know what the value and usage of the TE position in general can do. I just do not get it. Look at film past of Vance, Heath, Jesse, Spaeth, etc. Is this not what they were employed to do?

This guy is averaging a fumble every 86 touches. He’s averaging an injury everytime the wind changes direction.

Time to move on. Great job on beating cancer and all that, but he ain’t a starting RB in the NFL.

I don’t believe he will get extended. They may make him an offer and let him test the market. Can’t make the club in the tub

I like Conner and his story but feel good stories don't win games. He is unreliable and not an asset to be counted on. The best ability is availability. Time to move on.
