The QB move for Watson was a desperation move. The best QB in the Browns franchise is Maker Mayfield which was limiting and ultimately the reason for the trade.

Glad he posted it here. I would have missed it. I'm not one to split hairs, get political, etc. etc.

There is no section, world, universe, or dimension where it's wrong to mock the Browns.

We may be able to thank Cleveland again later..... From what I'm hearing, deshaun Watson's ridiculous contract is making Lamar Jackson's negotiations difficult

True. However, it could go so far that the Ravens move on from Lamar. I want Lamar in Baltimore on a toxic, cap killing contract.

Better yet would be if Lamar moved on and they ended up with Huntley. He is not terrible but he is less of a QB then Lamar

I don’t agree. My best case always involves Lamar being in Baltimore on a huge contract that limits their ability to maintain the team that he needs around him. To me, the Ravens moving on from Lamar and getting good draft compensation via a 3-party tag/trade/sign kind of deal is worst case. Next worst is Lamar walking w/o the Ravens getting compensation (other than an 2024 3rd round comp pick) and the Ravens having plenty of cap space to build around their next QB. Huntley would only be their QB for a year or so. If Lamar leaves, they’ll immediately start looking for their next guy.

I want the Ravens to be saddled with Lamar and a massive guaranteed contract. If that happens after Lamar sits out a year on the tag…. Even better!

Only thing better than Lamar Jackson signing a huge guaranteed contract with the Ravens is.....Lamar Jackson signing a huge guaranteed contract with the Ravens, and they change the offense to a more pass happy offense.

I thought the deal for Von Miller, given his age, was risky. On March 16, 2022, Von Miller signed with the Buffalo Bills on a six-year, $120 million deal. A few days later, Miller turned 33 on March 26, 2022. The contract includes an average of $17.5 million per year for the first four seasons and $51 million in guarantees. It's front loaded.

now here’s hoping the Ravens do the same stupidity with their RB. I mean QB. They seem a little smarter so far though.

When Watson signed the owner of the Ravens said it was not a good move by the Browns

There is little chance he will offer more than he did last year

And he certainly isn’t letting him walk away without something major in return

Lamar is his used toy he can do whatever he wants with it

Lamar is not running this negotiation

I agree that it was a risky contract, but the guarantee is not a quarter of a billion dollars. The Browns re-set the bar on stupidity with that deal and now, unfortunately, unrealistic expectations have been set for other quarterbacks looking for a new deal. Idiotic is all I can say about it and I would have hoped that Haslam would have learned a thing or two about negotiating fair and equitable deals during his time with the Steelers.
