Congrats, Tomlin!

That's million dollar question, isn't it?

He's won one playoff game in the past six years, six in his 9+ seasons. That isn't "a lot."

A friend of mine pointed something out to me yesterday regarding the Steelers' coaching successes:

Noll went to the post-season with four different QBs (Bradshaw, Stoudt, malone, and Brister)
Cowher went with five different ones (O'Donnell, Tomczak, Stewart, Maddox, and Ben)
Tomlin? Just Ben--SO FAR. Quite a luxury to have.

 

So........someone will give you a million dollars if you answer the question.

Congrats coach T. I'll admit that I ripped on you some in the past deserving so and not so deserving so as well. Hopefully you can add another Superbowl win or 2 or even more to your resume.

 

Better get Ben buttoned up, if he goes pick city again during this run equals no playoffs, if he does it in cincy and against the rats we lose.....

 

When Miami played Pittsburgh their O-line was healthy for the first time this season, and they went on to win 6 consecutive games. Just because a team has a losing record doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad team, the 2015 Chiefs at 1-5 beat the Steelers won 10 straight and made the playoffs.

I think I saw where Tomlin joins Lombardi and George Allen as never having a losing season in their first 10 years. Pretty darn good for a long time, consistently positive and that's very hard to do.

As to the criticism aspect... I've criticized Tomlin, Haley and Butler at times. I've praised them when they've done good too. Big deal, I'm not calling for their job when I criticize something bad and I'm not calling for their HOF induction when I praise something good. I'm sure others are the same. It's the exact same for players. They all have good and bad days.

I don't understand some of the black n gold lemmings who praise coach X or player Y and think they never do anything wrong, but if that's how you feel, I'm fine with that. We have different ways of looking at things. I'm certainly not going to come on here, like a certain idiot, and tell others how to be a fan.

 

Yeah, I'm here with you. Lord knows I'm not a fan of Tomlin but we're coming together at the right time and the young pieces on D are starting to look really good. If we make deep playoff runs the next few years I'll admit I was wrong.
