Yesterday was very nice, but to go into the HOF they count the whole career. I'm going to wait until his career is over to vote.

Huh? You have a HOF vote? Hopefully you look at Ben's whole career. Then look back at the long line of QB's before him after Terry Bradshaw. A talent like his is rare. To me he is a Hall of Fame QB before yesterdays stunning performance.

Probably. That was 5 years ago. It's also twice in an 11 year career. And the first time a QB has ever done it twice. If you hold your breath waiting for it to happen again, you will pass out.

Can someone tell me, if my eyes were correct.... I didn't watch the game, just saw the very very end and a few highlights.....

Did Ben get sacked with under a minute to play? I swear, the brief highlight I saw looked brutal. But I'm not even sure if that was during the game or at the very end. Was there a penalty? Was it a good hit? I just saw the tail end of slow mo where his head looked to whip back pretty good. Any words after the game? Is he ok?

BTW, awesome win, I never thought they had that in em. Great job boys.

It may have been a naked bootleg ... or a busted handoff with Ben trying to run with it.

Was a good day for Ben :applaud: definitely was a team effort for the numbers put up. Hoping the consistency carries over to the Raven game Sundaynite. One game at a time!

What I saw was maybe a slight step-up in pass protection by the O-Line. What was much more glaring was the fact that Ben was not holding the ball too long. I told some fellow Steeler fans that during the first quarter. Ben was taking his 3-and-5 step drops and letting the ball go. On some plays he had to step up in the pocket but then he immediately threw the ball. This allowed him to hit receivers on the run, out of their cut. This led to more YAC since he was getting the ball to the receivers while they were still in space. This is the answer to many of you who have wondered why there always seem to be defenders on the receiver when they get the ball. You will notice this was not as much of a problem yesterday. His throws were extremely accurate which allowed him to hit receivers in stride when the receiver was on top of the Colts defense. Once again... more YAC and long TD passes were a result. Additionally, the quick throws are what are needed in the red zone. And the team was very efficient in the red zone, yesterday.

Other aspects: Haley gets a nod because of the plays drawn up. These also led to receivers being in space when receiving the ball so they could get chunks of YAC. And props to the receivers for running the routes well.

Ben took his game to an unreal level, yesterday. It was beyond incredible. :herewego:

Yeah I was thinking the other day that if we hadn't blown so many games that he would have been so close to the all time record.

Ben sealed his place in Canton when he went to his 3rd SB against Green Bay. From then on out he's been playing to determine how quickly he gets in. This single game is very important because he's in a class of one when it comes to multiple 500 yard passing games. When his career is being reviewed for consideration into the Hall, you can bet that fact will be brought up. He's getting damn close to being a sure fire First Ballot HOFer.

I think he's already a first ballot hall of famer, bobby. Are there any QBs that have been to three Super Bowls who aren't in the hall?

    None.
Plunkett is the only one with 2 who isn't in it. Ben has that plus a runner-up againist GB. Now he's putting up impressive number.

He's a lock. As sure a thing as there is. And real close to 1st ballot.

You do have a point about the precision passing...

    HOWEVER...

On a lot of those throws, he was still holding the ball 4 seconds plus...

They were NOT all 3 steps back, fire the ball, by any stretch of the imagination...

He had time all game long, like I`ve never seen before...

I`ve seen it for a few plays here and there, during a game, before, but, NEVER with the
consistency they showed throughout the game yesterday.

It was a thing of beauty...

And I read today that the Colts came into that game with about 21 sacks for the year...

    They didn`t sack him ONCE...

How often can we say that, no matter who we face?!?

    HELLUVA Game!!!

I WANT MORE LIKE THAT ONE!!!

What can I say?... I`m greedy, and I expect perfection from my team!:cool::herewego!:

Honestly, what you saw Sunday, in my opinion, is what Ben can do given time. I have never seen him as well protected as he was Sunday. I didn't think he was getting the ball out overly quick he just had more time. Yes, this was a game for the ages but his passes were like lasers. Most QBs can throw a couple lasers a game. Ben threw 40 of them and that is unreal!

there were still a lot of times he held that ball way too long but the line kept them off of him. that won't happen this Sunday. otherwise great game ben. adjust for the rats though.

I've always been a pretty big detractor of his, so I must say he played a terrific game.

If he can continue to get that kind of protection from his line, this offense might just be unstopable.
While others might have a different opinion, I think Mike Adams plays a big part in this. I think he's just flat out better than Gilbert is. This week will be the real test, if Gilbert isn't cleared.
