I currently reside in Tennessee. Tennessee has a constitutional carry law passed in 2021. It is constitutionally legal to publicly carry a weapon, either concealed or open, in this state. The usual exceptions apply, must be 18, not a felon, not in schools/churches, or places posted no weapons allowed, etc...

What are the current concealed carry laws in your states? Just curious.

I had a carry license, but it’s pointless now as we added constitutional carry in 2022. Personally I think it’s stupid and nothing more than pandering, but that’s a topic for another board

I started looking into my state's laws recently. My father passed right before Christmas and I inherited many guns. I had no idea he was such a collector. I knew he had a few and after he passed I searched his place for those first because I knew they would be loaded, and I didn't want someone finding one unprepared. I was not prepared for the number of weapons I ended up finding. Another thing I find strange is how many offers I have received to buy them. I have had offers to buy the whole lot unseen. The laws here are not as strict as I once thought they were. I can even get a carry permit if I want just by watching a 90min video. But like i said earlier, it's not even required.Maybe I am naive somewhat, but this really surprised me.

First, you have to be 21 to legally have a hand gun, 10 day wait when purchasing, pass a gun safety course, have an interview and, I believe it's up to each county to decide whether to issue the CCW permit. I remember a few years ago, the San Diego sheriff saying that he wouldn't issue any permits as long as he was in office.

Huh...well here it is a state law. You still have forms and red tape and waiting in order to buy a gun. But once you do, you get to carry it around.

You should try getting ammo. I don't know if it's passed yet but, there's been talk of requiring background checks to buy ammo too. It's bizarre. There's all the .22 and 9mm ammo you could ever want but, I haven't seen .30/.30 for my gun in years.

Sorry for your loss. Lost my dad back in august. Absolutely crushing blow. I only inherited one rifle from my father, but can’t foresee myself ever getting rid of it. It’s fine, I just like my Remington 700 more. A friend inherited a pistol from his father. He sold it and regrets doing so to this day
I can’t speak for private sales there, but here it’s no different than selling a bag of boiled peanuts.

In Ohio, as of June 2022, we can carry concealed without a permit.

Not sure. I couldn't find any in Ketchikan either. The sporting goods store by me has .30-06 rounds, .45. .357 .44, etc. I guess I'll have to get a Henry!

My SIL and her husband moved to AZ and he went to work at an outdoor shop. He said there was lots of .30-.30 ammo there. You can also buy a gun and walk out same day........if you're an AZ resident.

I used to order ammo from cheaper than dirt.com, but stopped after the sandy hook shooting. They would deliver 1k rounds of 40 s&w to my door far cheaper than I could buy locally. Unfortunately those assholes quadrupled their prices the day of that massacre. They knew the dimbulbs would panic buy and jacked up their prices. Now I just buy in bulk from Georgia arms.
