Picks awarded based on a formula that takes into account free agents losses and gains from the previous year

Steelers Depot : Thank you Matt Spaeth, Nick Eason and Keyaron Fox
Steelers Depot : Before I get any more suggestions that the Steelers trade those picks to move up, teams can't trade compensatory picks

Hey you never know. Most 7th rounders don't work out, but there always hope.

Past seventh-round picks included Brett Keisel in 2002, David Johnson in 2009 and Baron Batch last year.

    Solid. Especially Kiesel.

I always like using 7th's to grab a position that's not of great value like a kicker, fb, etc. Guys that can certainly contribute but aren't necessarily drafted high.

Awesome...there could be some solid value in the late rounds. A kicker? A FB? Who knows...

I don't know too much about Haley. Does he like using a FB?

Definitely draft a kicker to challenge Suisham and a bunch of o-lineman.

Any who kicked in college could "CHALLENGE" him, but any one who excelled in college will beat him out. Swissham was picked up off the streets. You get what you pay for. He needs to be replaced. I watched him in warm ups at the Denver game. When you miss 2 20 yd attempts in warm ups you shouldnt be kicking in the NFL. Does anyone honestly say they have more confidence in him than a coin flip? I agree with you, bring in a kicker!

Swayze Waters is still a free agent, maybe they bring him back for a camp competition. I've heard that no-one puts Swayze in a corner...

At the very least these picks will give us a jump on the UDFA's. Nothing wrong with that.

Might as well add undrafted players to that list: Fast Willie, James Harrison, etc.

If we can get a solid player with just one of those picks it would be a huge boon
