I think a couple of these picks are subject to change based on how much Fields and Wilson play this season. They will have 11 total picks that's enough to move up and draft a franchise QB, they might have to give up some picks in 2027 too.

Wilson- players with 10+ seasons accrued may yield no more than a fifth round pick, even if their compensation would otherwise be assigned higher.

So if you look at the draft pick value chart and assume that we get the first comp pick of each of those rounds based on where this year’s comp picks were in each round, that’s a total of 181 points. That’s equivalent to a mid 3rd round pick. The buying power of all 4 of those comp picks combined could move us up from pick 20 to pick 16, maybe 15. If we have a bad year and pick 15, they can get us to 12. The only way to make really big moves is trading future 1st round picks.

They’re just someone’s guess based on free agent contracts. Actual awards won’t happen until next year.

One of the reason that it would be better for the steelers to finish at 5-12 instead of 9-8 or 10-7,so if the steelers start the season at 2-6 like in 2022,it will be the time to tank to be better in the long run

NEVER tank. Do you want to instill a losing culture in our players? Every players should be balling out 100% on every snap.

Fine, but it is possible to give more playing time to your young players to evaluate them instead of trying to win at all costs even if the chances at making the playoffs are slim to none.

My point with them having 11 picks they can offer their first and second in 2026, then offer a third in 2026 and some picks in 2027 if they're desperate enough.

You must always win at all cost, you never know when it will be your last....as a coach, a player, or a fan, and you never know how things will play out in the end. I'm telling you the 1st SB we won with Ben, nobody by week 13 thought we had a chance . We had just got spank on Monday night by Indy, and then turned around, and got beat by Cincinnati...Exact words....going to get bounced again, even if we fluke make it to the playoffs...Cowher can't win the big games.

They were still at 7-5 in a very strong AFC and only one game back from a playoff spot behind the chargers and chiefs, both at 8-4 and both of those teams had a tough schedule. But when you are at 2-6(like in 2022) and your chance at making the playoffs are slim to none, better in the long run to start to evaluate your young players

He's notorious for posting things that hold not truth.

Some people believe anything just because they see a media person say it.

No wonder the stock market almost crashed a few years ago when an AI image came out saying the pentagon was on fire and we were under attack.

To many people just run to believe things without investigating. Screenshot_20250429_205354_Chrome.jpg

If the chances are "slim", you know that they're not tanking. No team in the NFL would if they still had a chance.
If the chances are "none"? You do realize that the entire time that Tomlin's been here, they've played exactly 1 (one) game where they'd already been eliminated from playoff contention, don't you?

I know Tomlin's whole history, that's one of the big reasons I always predict a 9 to 10 wins season lately and I've only been one game off in each of the last 3 years, too high or too low...But my point is if they are 2-6 like in 2022, it would be better in the long run if for once they draft high enough to have the chance to have a true franchise QB....I know the steelers won't do that, but it would be better in the long run....Like in 2003, it was good that the steelers didn't finish 8-8 after a 2-6 start

Lines up pretty well with overthecap. The Steelers are definitely in line for a 3,4,5,6 at the moment. Fields is the highest rated 4, so playing time and hitting some bonus money, along with end of year honors (All Pro, Pro Bowl) could push him into the third. The 3 5 and 6 are pretty locked in.

I'm only telling You what was being actually said , by fans on boards, and tv personalities during that actual time after a 3 game skid... Many people have changed how they felt during that time because we actually went on to win, so their remembering history of that time is not factual, its colored by what went on to happen. Hell there were people that even after we won the last 4 games in a row, and made the 6th seed said it was a waste of time. No freaking way Cowher could take a team on the road into Cincinnati (who just beat us), into Indy(who just spanked us in prime time), and Denver.

It wasn't like they didn't try to win in 2003 though, they just couldn't. Also Ben wasn't the 1st Qb drafted, he was the 3rd, and nothing says that had we went 8-8, or 9-7 , that we wouldn't have still gotten him. You may not remember, but Qb needy teams, like the Browns already passed over him.

I know it is speculative at best, but I am hoping at least 3 picks are awarded.
This is the draft to break out in. They need to excel.

It'll take a 1st Rd pick swap in 26, a first Rd pick in 27 and multiple 2nd Rd picks. What the comp picks would allow us to do is help us out-compete a competitor from making a similar deal. Look what Jacksonville gave up just to move up 3 spots.

The rams and Browns have 2 1st next year, the latter with both being potential very high picks. Depending where we draft we probably have enough value to move into the top 10, but moving into the top 5 could well be out of reach.

The Buffalo Bills(also 6-10 in 2003) had the 13rd pick that year would likely take Roethlisberger...They reach big time on J.P Losman with their second first round pick(22nd overall) so if the steelers would been 8-8,it would likely not been possible for the steelers to take Ben unless they trade up for him like they did the year before for Polamalu

Depending on how the 2026 Season plays out, those comp picks will definitley come in handy. Tennessee is a very intriguing team to look at in terms of a potential trading partner. Should the Titans have a Top 10 pick again, I would entertain them as a potential option.

Jacksonville is another. I would also account for the likes of New Orleans but I don't think they will have a Top 10 pick but rather a Top 3 one. Wildcard teams for me would be the Jets or the Raiders.
