Not the first (or last) guy who left under less than desirable circumstances...but enough time has passed to allow that to happen IMHO. He was a stalwart and Steeler legend.

 

Maybe I'm Mark Madden Because Ike obviously isn't the worst draft pick ever. But I think he's severely overrated by Steelers fans. Just flashbacks of always bitching about him getting burnt or dropping an easy int. Obviously they won Championships with him but that's because everybody else around him was just that good. Then the Tebow TD, nobody can ever live that down.

Ike shut down #1 WRs more often than not. Ike shut down Marvin Harrison... one of the greatest WRs of all time in divisional round, January '06 vs. Colts. The Tebow game was in 2011 season... Ike had lost a step by then.

 

Did he shut them down or the d-line and lb's pressuring the QB with Polamalu running around covering everything like a mad man?

 

I will always be thankful that JH-Silverback donned the black and gold. He was able to win a ring and be a huge contributor to that. Also, Defensive MVP and too many great moments to tarnish his legacy as a Steeler to me.

 

Sorry man, but to say Ike Taylor was not a good CB is just silly. One could argue that Polamalu was blessed with good corners like Taylor, McFadden and Townsend.... who allowed Troy to improvise and wreak havoc.

 

Yep we had a solid secondary. Chris hope and Clark were also really good.

I believe defense still wins, if they can keep the score down it'll give our jekyll and hyde offense a chance . Our offense was the worst ever vs Seattle in the SB and still won.
