Maybe. I heard an ad for it on 93.7 The Fan, in between all the Online Betting, Divorce Lawyer, and willie pills ads.

Stingley won't be there in round 2, he will likely be a top 15 pick.

Clark and Chenal are the top two contestants I would bet on.

I would assume somewhere in the 5-6 mil a season range. In the Vonn Bell, Chuck Clark, Eric Rowe range. Maybe his value could be less based on him being a SS rather a FS. We need to make sure we have solid players on the defense on good contracts. We will have a lot of money invested in Minkah and Watt (rightfully so) as well as a good chunk into Heyward and Tuitt... Having quality players on lower contracts 5mil or less a season is how we are going to keep the defense together.

Depending on what happens in free agency, the Steelers are going to have about five positions to choose from in the draft. This board is going to have a half dozen players to choose from and it is going to be chaos.

Yeah, I get that. I’m just not sure that Edmunds is who I’m thinking of when we talk about keeping the defense together. I waver on him because I think he’s generally competent when he stays close to the LOS, but not a particularly good safety overall. I’m not so much concerned about how much of a cap hit a contract at a 5-6 million average would be as I am concerned that if we lock him up we’ll then pass on an opportunity to materially upgrade the position in either this year’s or next year’s draft. This draft has some solid Day 2, and even Day 3 talent at the safety position. Guys who can playin the box, but also drop into a zone and not get completely lost like Edmunds usually does if he has to play more than 10-15 yards downfield.

Edit: I’ll amend this thought by recalling a play near the end of the season, it may have even been in the playoff game. Edmunds was one of two high safeties, and the corner (I think Witherspoon) was expecting help deep, and Edmunds was that deep help. Only Edmunds had other ideas. Edmunds turned his back on the receiver breaking open in front of him and bolted for the goalposts. The problem is that the offense had nobody in that area, and nobody that was even headed that way. The QB was able to look Edmunds off to cover a phantom receiver even though Edmunds had the play developing in front of him. TD.

Haden ran a 4.57 or thereabouts at his combine. He turned out ok.

So, McCreary’s official 40 time was 4.50. That’s plenty fast enough.

Alontae taylor, cross, or any of those boys from Baylor would be fine with me. Elam as well. Those are my front runners at corner and safety. Still a muma fan at ilb.

I’m not going to have time to really watch film on enough players other than QBs this draft season to have positional rankings, so all I can say is that I really, really like him from watching games on live TV on Saturdays. I am going to try to watch some film of him and other corners though.

Cool. I've given up on Qb for now.
I've been watching games by the DB I like now. I would so far put Him in My top 5 .

Yes the 2 safety's from Baylor looked really good today and Barnes their corner ran a 4.23 official forty. We all know about Jalen Pitre who is a great player than can play a variety of positions but JT Woods at 6'2" and 190 lbs ran a 4.36 forty. Woods also was the only DB in the nation to have over 5 interceptions and only give up 1 TD last year.

As much as I want Jordan Davis, his running a 4.73 at 340 lbs just put him far out of our realistic draft range

From what I'm seeing Muma has the same problems getting off blocks and over pursuing as the current guys.

Most of them said he would test well and I'd say they were quite correct on that take. He's definitely putting solid numbers up.

All the more reason I stated way back in November that he is best suited for a 4-3 OLB; WILL 'Backer preferably. He is much better whenever he is not assigned to navigate through traffic on the inside. Forcing him to do so greatly diminishes his strengths. If anything, a team is just exponentially augmenting his weaknesses.

Leo Chenal though was someone who I wanted to keep an eye on heading into the draft. Despite being 250lbs... running a 4.53, with his skill set, is not just a superb benefit but also quite the bonus as this adds more to his run stopping repertoire than others are not discussing.

For example, why shoot him in the middle alone?! A delayed run blitz on the outside against teams who favor stretch runs is not just doable but very recommended. Chenal showed me that he is not just strong with the power to match but also possess some sneaky levels of athletic ability.

Definitley would not mind seeing him in the Black and Gold for certain.
