WJIII, Colbert, Tomlin and Lake all went to dinner the night before too.

From a non power 5 conference though, could they change that trend?

That's a great sign! That (to me) means he's a top two/three consideration.

I was about to post the exact same thing lol I knew you'd like that. We've talked to just about every first round corner that we have a shot at. Apple, Jackson and Alexander. We seem to be serious about a first round corner of one is available to us... I'd personally be happy with any of them.

Alexander is the most pro ready and probably the best all around player of the bunch. He could come in and take meaningful snaps for us right away. Apple and Jackson are much bigger projects, and while they might not be able to contribute much if at all as rookies they probably have a little bit higher ceiling. It will be interesting to see who is available to us and what we do.

Regardless, we need to add a veteran too at some point.

I would be very disappointed if the draft played out that way, I haven't seen any projections of Neal being a first round pick. Also too many needs on defense to be drafting a slow WR in Boyd in the 2nd.

Me too but I have read it here is the latest one:

    [IMG]Pittsburgh Steelers:
3/22: "I've been told for the past week Keanu Neal is still in the conversation as the first-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had defensive back coach Carnell Lake on hand today." - Tony Pauline, WalterFootball.com
2/26: The Cardinals and Steelers are suitors for Keanu Neal in the first round. - Tony Pauline, WalterFootball.com

If we are stupid enought to take Neal with our first round pick, then we don't deserve to be in the AFC championship game or a division winner. Colbert needs to get it right in that secondary.

While I agree with you they are some pretty harsh words. I will trust the Steelers judgment over yours, I don't even have this kid as a 3rd rounder but if the Steelers see something.......notice I said Steelers cause there is more to picking a player then JUST COLBERT, then I have to trust them.....I don't have to like it but I will trust them!

I hear ya, but at the end of the day, Colbert makes the call. He determines the ultimate draft value of a player.

Yeah real weird how this list only has Decker from OSU, what about Apple? IDK hard to believe anything you read this time of year, teams are not gonna show their hand.

Boise st pro day today. S Darian Thompson could be a target. We'll see if anyone attends.

OLB Correa also. I'm not a fan, but others may be.

Steelers at Maryland's pro day yesterday. CB/S Sean Davis and OLB Yannick Ngakoue are possible targets.

Mitchell was at the South Carolina State pro day putting Javon Hargrave through a workout. He's an intriguing prospect in terms of measureables, productions and Senior Bowl week performance vs. FBS talent. However, I have yet to watch any of his college games. So many prospects, so little free time....

I"m feeling confident that Colbert and crew have their fingers on the pulse of our needs. Just by their due diligence.

He's pretty darn quick for a big guy. Draft player breakdown has one video of him but I haven't been able to watch their videos since the offseason began so I'm relegated to youtube vids. Just highlights on there. Very intriguing prospect for round 3 where he seems to be projected. A lot of disruption with his initial quickness though.

Steelers had dinner with Boise St. OLB Kamalei Correa last night. Tony Pauline says the Steelers are one of a few teams considering him in the first.

Hmmm... He's been on my list of guys to watch film on. I guess I'd better do it. One thing on his NFL.com draft profile that jumps out at me is his 31 5/8" arm length at 6'3". Those are short arms for a 6'3" edge rusher.

    Here you go, Elvis. http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/threads/kamalei-correa.14358/

He struck me as a good run defender, but he's not a sack specialist by any stretch of the imagination.

I like what I've seen of Hargrave. I can imagine the Steelers do, too. Strong kid with a high motor.
