Cowherd is a nerd and gets very upset when people don't button their shirts to the top.

    He's also a Brady/NE homer.

I shut it down after a couple minutes because I was having a hard time listening to an idiot wearing a purple button down shirt.

He's right. 1 playoff win in 5 years is underachieving. The end.

I just find it intriguing he thinks such of Tomlin though? To say Pittsburgh underachieved due to the fact that Tomlin could not get over the hump based on abilities is the parallel of what many stated about Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers.

If anything, the animosity that McCarthy had to put up with this year probably super cedes Tomlin's due to the fact that Green Bay has had playoff success in the previous five years whereas Tomlin's lone playoff victory was a gift from two of the most asinine plays in the history of American Gridiron Football yet Packers fans constantly call for both McCarthy and Rodgers heads.

If using that logic, could we say the same about Mike McCarthy then considering many Packers fans wanted, and still want, him gone due to his "underachieving" with Aaron Rodgers; Aaron Rodgers' head also being called for the guillotine?

Yes, you can. But in comparing the two, I think the Packers have had a far less talented roster compared to us. They have also accomplished more with 3 playoff wins to our 1. They lost to some really good teams in the 49ers a couple years ago and Seahawks not Tim Tebow.

This used condom is only relevent when he talks about the Steelers. Other than that he's battling head to head with QVC for afternoon ratings. I've been more interested in the small print....on junkmail.

There is one way Tomlin can shut Cowherd, Bradshaw and every other naysayer up!

Time to make some noise, boys!

Saying Tomlin has underachieved is a very narrow minded way of looking at it while ignoring facts. I expect nothing less from Cowherd.

So here is how social identity theory works.

Within the group, we can be critical of each other; I have said the Steelers tend to underachieve and I have been critical of Tomlin--and do so with my Steeler bretheren to give and gain perspective. I didn't have much of a problem with Bradshaw's criticism, either. It's all in-house. And we basically handle it in-house (or in nation.)

But when it comes from outside the house, I will usually defend Tomlin, and in this case I am really pissed.

When I came across Cowherd's rant, I said: STFU! Cowherd's an idiot. First of all, he is making an apples and oranges comparison. The criticism of Coach K (don't ask me to spell that damn name) has to do with being light on spoiled brat Grayson Allen (it even sounds like a frat boy name); it isn't about winning and losing. Furthermore, Cowher'd right-win leaning crap just seeps through. It's similar to the Limbaugh criticism on Donovan McNabb.

If you've ever seen Will Cain, now on ESPN, he too can't help but let his racism come to the surface.

    I'll stop now.

I hold in esteem what Cowherd says right up there with what Rappaport reports.

Limbaugh didn't criticize McNabb, his comments were about the media. I tend to listen to sports analysts for their take on sports. When they venture into politics, either left or right, I tune them out. Cowherd says crap, because that's his shtick. I usually don't like it, and I don't agree with it in this case. Do I get upset and critical when the Steelers don't play well? Absolutely, but how much can you really rant about a game. I still have to get up and go to work in the morning.

Cowherd started this crap after Jason Whitlock would come on his show and say Tomlin is the coddled coach in the NFL. Now Cowherd has run with it, when he's not slobbering all over Brady and Belichick or bashing Aaron Rodgers .

I really want the Steelers to win the Super Bowl, to see what these talking heads will have to say then. I want to see Bradshaw squirm on the stage and have to interview the victorious Steelers.

A few things come to mind.

    1. I'm not a Tomlin supporter. Most know that by now.
    2. I can't figure out Bradshaw, never have been able to. Noll made him into what he is and yet he always hated Noll. Yeah, Bradshaw wanted a father figure to baby him and not be hard on him, but Noll did what needed to be done to develop a grown ass man into a 4 time SB winnings QB, yet Bradshaw still hated him. So although Bradshaw is one of the greats, I sometimes have a hard time getting behind what he has to say.
    3. I don't know who Colin Cowherd is. I really don't pay attention to talking heads. I listen to and respect the opinions of Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan, that's about it.
    4. I do think the Steelers have underachieved over the last 5 years. We have had far too much talent to be the mediocre team we've been the last 5 years.
    5. None of the above matters if win the SB this year. I don't care if we haven't won a game in 108 years, when you do win it all, nothing else matters. Just ask Cubs fans

I don't really have a problem with what TB or other members of media are saying. Mike Tomlin has an opportunity to prove everyone wrong.

Grayson Allen is a punk and it's a shame he only got suspended one game for four trips. There's duke for ya!

Cowherd annoys the crap out of me. I am not a Tomlin hater. But the Steelers HAVE underachieved in recent years, including this season. How is this offense only ranked 10th? Why do we perennially lose games where we are the clear favorite because we have better players and should be the favorite? The ridiculous four game skid cost us a first round bye and a better chance at hosting the AFC title game. I hate the Pats, but lets be honest, they rarely screw up a game they are favored to win. When the playoffs begin they are always one win from the AFC title game and it is often at their place. The Steelers had the talent to win 14 games this season. Had they defeated the Pats, that would make them the #1 seed. No, I don't think the Steelers should dominate every year. But they lose too many games that they have no business losing. It's not a rare occurrence. There are 2-3 every season.

Looking at the last 3 playoff losses:

2011 Ben was injured and 5 D starters out for all or part of the game.
2014 Josh Harris and Ben Tate were the RB's
2015 Ben injured again , Bell out, Brown out, D Will out.

The team has under-achieved but those injuries are hard to overcome in the playoffs.

Same thing I was thinking... This is the healthiest post-season we've had in awhile... Watch out!
