I'm no fan of Cowherd... but he's dead on accurate about the Steelers. The Steelers ARE a mess. And he's right about the Steelers never being able to beat the Patriots, due to lack of discipline. Also he's right about the only 3 playoff wins in the past 8 years being highly unremarkable.... Miami without Tannehill, Bengals losing more than Steelers winning and not being able to score a TD vs. Chiefs.

Gotta love the Robert Downey Jr. analogy...

 

Like everything else it starts at the top.

There's zero discipline.

I like Tomlin and I think he's a part of the problem, but the Steelers also couldn't likely find anyone as good as he is. It's honestly a vicious cycle. At some point, though, the players have to man-up and make a leap.

I do think that was happening last year until Shazier went down.

Like any coach Tomlin has his strengths and weaknesses. Discipline is not one of Tomlin's strengths, or so I was told by Captain Obvious.
This is where team leaders should be stepping up.

 

The example of the possession in the 3rd quarter was spot in.

 

That’s what made the teams of the 70s great. Back then there were leaders. Now we have me first.

I'm curious what you consider to be Tomlin's strengths, and weaknesses...

 

Too many teams in the last few years have achieved personal bests against the Steelers.

 

It starts with the ownership if people really want to believe it starts at the top.

 

Colin us ok I watch his show sometimes but I'm more of an undisputed guy but he is dead on with this. Our playoff resume in this regime is overrated and we have vastly underachieved. I also agree that lack of discipline and coaching is why ne beats us. We are a mess. I thought Tomlin was a no nonsense guy but it's clear he doesn't have control of the locker room.

 

He's a players coach and players do want to play for him.

 

Hell when they can do and say what they want, and not get in trouble for it, i cant really blame them...

Didn't click on the link I think Cowherd is a jerk, I tried and tried to listen to him but just don't like him. I don't need a talk show host to tell me my team is a mess. I can see it pretty clearly, we lose games we should easily win vs not as good teams. The Bell thing, the JH thing are all things that take away from the Steeler way. We have/had top guys at the 3 skill positions but yet no trophy to show for it. With all that said I am a Steeler fan and have no control over any of it so I will just keep rooting on.......
