Appreciate your post but combining last season's record with this year's record to justify, doesn't really count in my mind. If you're saying that with TJ, we are better, without we are a travesty, than you are making my point. If I had just said that and nothing else, then that would be a bad idea. However, I mentioned that more would need to change along with that (coaches, scheme, other personnel)! And the reasoning is to get the most value out of him now. This is not sustainable, to have one guy that you build a defense around and if he goes down, so does your team. That's called, "putting all of your eggs in one basket". Again, this was my whole point.

 

What's "asinine", is that all of the posters that don't read the entire post and highlight one area without context! Ha ha. But you do you!

Let's look at something objectively for a moment, shall we? TJ Watt's cap hit (that is his salary) for this season alone in around $24.5 million (for this season alone)!

Take another productive, good Steeler defender in Minkah. He makes $4 million!

Now I'm no math whizz, like I'm sure you all that are responding (without making a counter suggestion or proposing any other ideas)....but Watt is making 6 times what Minkah is. Freeing up his contract, would leave space to add other good players in FA. Do you see? $24 million is more than $4 million. Does that make sense to you?

 

Although I'm sure that's all you're here for, no. I'm just looking for solutions. What solutions do you have?

 

Let the season play out. See what we have in Pickett. No trades of DPOY necessary.

 

I should have clarified (and this is one me), my suggestion was for at season's end! When this season is over!

Do You not remember.....We did the same with Troy P., and our record was pretty much the same as with Watt when He didn't play. Yet it worked out more than it didn't.
