Colbert needs to be held accountable as well as Tomlin.

The draft picks the last 5 years or so have been mediocre and when an old starter goes down, the drop off in talent is very steep.

 

You are not going to have top 5 players at every position. We need more talent like everyone else. But with your 5th and 6th corner on the field, the entire right side of your offensive line with rookies and a undiciplined group of guys that doesn't protect the ball.

Now we can second guess our picks as if we shoulda took him instead of him and he was available why did we pick him when he was still on the board? But even if we took whoever else, it doesn't mean they would have turned out like they did with there current team.

 

Valid points. I was looking at the 2008 draft the other day and the only guys on the team still are Mendenhall and Mundy. The 2009 draft has three players left. Wallace, Lewis and Hood. I could be off base but it does seem that we miss a lot beyond the first couple of rounds.

Yeah, I was looking at that 2008 draft as well and we did not do well at all. The 2009 draft will be down to two on the team as I don't think Wallace will be back next year. Plus Hood and Lewis haven't been lighting it up since they been here. I can see Hood and Lewis moving on after there contract is up.

 

You can look at any team and criticize their past drafts the Steelers do a good job in the first rounds of their drafts though.
