I keep hearing about these monumental shake ups... but the only guys I see going are free agents, or guys that are old... Last season Hines, Farrior, and Aaron Smith went. I don't see this season being much different.

I see potential players lost as...
Harrison, Foote, Hampton, Wallace, Mendenhall, Starks, Colon.

If ALL of those guys went I wouldn't be surprised. So does anyone see a possible cut coming that would shock anyone?

Keisel too maybe. I think the shocking part is not who but the volume, thats a lot of people to lose.

I think Harrison, Kesiel, and Hampton will be back next year. I really don't think we have anyone to replace Harrison and do even an adaquate job. On the defensive line without Hampton and Keisel i'd be afraid to see what would happen. Keisel and Hampton are definitely toward the end of their careers, but I think they are still valuable to our rotation.

I think the big changes will come in Free Agency. Let's face it, we have 4-5 years to make up for. Our cap situation looks bad at the moment, but with the restructures of Timmons, Woodley, and Ben we shouldn't be in that bad of a spot.

Here are the most important moves that I believe need to be made.

-I really think Steven Jackson is on their radar. He wants to play for a winner and won't be too expensive. I'd love to add a RB in the 2nd-3rd round to groom as the next in line.

-The really need a BUCK LB to replace Foote. I think they go here in the 1st or 2nd round. If not, this will be another area to address in Free Agency. Any LB's out there that would be a good fit. I'd be interested in maybe Ray Malauga.

-Left Guard is the next spot that we need to upgrade. Willie Colon will be cut and lets face it did a poor job anyway. I'd look at this spot in free agency, unless Warmack from Alabama is there in the 1st round.

-I'm never opposed to adding a CB with an early round pick or in Free Agency. Brett Grimes might be a bargain since he is coming off the achillies injury, but might be worth the gamble.

Here is how i see the draft...

1)Warmack(Guard), Dee Milner (CB), Jonathan Banks (CB), Alec Ogletree (ILB), Kevin Minter (ILB)
2)Jonathan Cooper (Guard), Eddie Lacy (RB), Monte Ball (RB), Aurtur Brown (ILB), Xavier Rhodes (CB), Dion Jordan (OLB)
    3) Stephan Taylor (RB), Jordan Poyer (CB), TJ Mcdonald (S), Nico Johnson (ILB),

I hope you are joking. Unless you want a top 5 draft pick next year. Because this would pretty much assure us of that

Yeah they lost the best guy they have when they sent Jonathan Joseph to Houston right? I agree that Malaluga is an idiot.

Restructuring Ben, Woodley, and Timmons would save us 18.5 mill. We can also roll 3 mill over from unused cap space last season. That puts us around 6 mill under. I'm sure Khan will be able to clear more in cap space and there will be some cuts made.

I'm not asking for them to make a ton of signings in free agency, but lets face it we need to make some moves. Two decent starters would be nice. Preferably a solid RB and RG or CB. The rest can be addressed in the draft.

    Changes could mean many things.
Defense could be changing to 4-3.
    Cheerleaders.
    Uniforms.
Windows to MAC in the Offices. or vice versa

Why does he have to be so cryptic?

This team doesn't do drastic or changes at all.

I beg too differ, we had the team that just needed a little fitting and tweaking. As it stands our projected left tackle has never played LT in the NFL and the same holds true for LG. As a whole not one starter on the line has played a whole NFL season. We don't have a #1 wr or rb. Our #1 TE just had major knee surgery which could cost him a significant number of games. Our #2 TE is just ok in the passing game, but needs major work as an inline blocker and our #3 TE is a joke. We could also be losing 5 starters on defense. That's a team that is a long way from just a simple fit and tweak. The sky is not falling, but I wouldn't say everything is rosy either.

The season isn't over yet. There will be NO news for a couple of months. Colbert is right, there needs to be changes.

First, to have continuity on the Offensive line. This is a major issue. Colon, gone.

Hampton is a shell, getting pushed around. Done. McClendon can be pluged right in. Keisel stays one more year. I would start Hayward. A big year for Ziggy. Needs to turn it up a notch.

Foote. Played well. Really have to see if Spenser can come back from the injury. Reports was he was a force before the injury. Will be addressed in the draft and possibly free agency. Or move Harrison inside and have Wourlds start. Woodley better know he is on notice. Pathetic performance this season.

A reciever will be drafted. Wallace will be gone. Maybe he will CATCH on somewhere else.

A backup QB is paramount. Not to replace Ben, but to replace one of the fossels. Batch can stay as the 3rd. Might look into free agency for this. Ben stays healthy, were in the playoffs. Period.

Mendy. Bye. Dwyer will remain. This will be addressed in the draft. Also down a guy with numbnuts Rainey being shown the door. Redman possibly stays. Batch will be back.

I would like to see them sign Lewis. He is a number one CB and the free agent signing priority. Cannot have enough CB's with this spread em out passing league. Might be Ike's last harrah.

Troy. This guy has been a staple. His reckless instinctive play has been a key for this Defense. But, can't stay on the field. Need to draft a replacement to groom.

And tight end. Heath is a beast. The injury is devistaing. Need to look in the draft. Hopefully he comes back strong.

Never is rosy.. but Jam was refering to the Ravens... get healthy on CB's TE Ben etc...we can beat them with what we have in place (wr-rb less committee.. agree Baltimore found their way to the championship but they now have to show the world they are worthy of the Lombardi ...show us you bastards. As for the big picture in Pittsburgh yes alot of work ahead I don't see a championship in the near..maybe 2yrs. hard one to call.

according to this article they won't franchise anyone since they don't feel anyone is a franchise player, they won't tender any of their unrestricted free agents until market value for them is set meaning as of now zero plans to bring back Mendenhall, Starks, Foote, Lewis, Wallace, Foster, or Hampton. two most telling quotes from the article are

I think he is talking about the free agents and not everyone on the team but who knows and the second one

interesting take on how they will approach the situation.

i wouldn't cut james harrison for love nor money. he would be put next to timmons and that duo would become the best inside LBing corp in the NFL. rolle and spence behind them would stregnthen this position even moreso. no draft pick needed this year.

Keisel stays.... Most productive DL we had last year and in final year of his contract. Foote too may stay only because he did do an outstanding job calling the defense and Timmons doesn't seem to have the Football IQ to do it. Spence was to be the Heir-apparent as he's fast in coverage and a very intelliegent ball player. Hopefully he is healthy enough to do it part time next season just as Foote did it part time year before last. We don't have time to groom a play caller from the draft for next season.

FOSTER!!! That's the suprise player we lose. I was not a fan a couple years back, Hugesnack put it outthere that he was becoming starter quality and I thought it was a joke... Joke on me as he showed up this year. I hate this........... good job snack!

Foster will be tendered an offer but some-one will sign him away. He played well at RG and we have DD there. LG is the question and colon is all but gone, can Beechum man that spot. He'll most certainly be our swing OL. If we draft Warmack or Cooper we should have a OL for the next 5 yrs to dominate and tell me they'll be gone by #17. DD made it to #24. Big Red was also 24 I think.

Hampton is gone. McLendon is the man in the middle.
Starks will return if he accepts a Vet minimum qualifiing contract. He played well and thru a soft tissue knee injury unlike Colon.

James is gone unfortunately because we need the cap savings and he just didn't recover from his injurys and return to great form this year.

Do we dare lose Troy? Will Allen played well in relief as did our younger DB's ( except Mundy ) and he is expensive and oft injuryed!
How about Ryan? Probably not as he's the glue that holds the Secondary together.
