Keep Arthur Smith at OC, sign Wilson for 2-3 years.... get Ben Johnson at HC, get Flores at DC if he's not under contract with Vikes.... fire the rest! Clean house.

Smith needs autonomy, I doubt he has it.

IF he does, then he too needs to be on a short leash and he needs to be able to hire the proper OLINE coach.....

 

If Ben Johnson comes here he will be calling plays. Smith can go elsewhere with his conservative approach. He is not an innovator. What a shame they let Flores walk away. But i'm sure he is grateful he is with the Vikings because here he would be a puppet.

 

There is already a bunch of threads complaining about the coaching staff, what exactly are you saying that is different ?

 

The biggest problems I see are the defence is an absolute mess. We have some very talented players on that side of the ball that have done their part to keep the ship upright, but overall it's a mess. We're seeing what happens when the pass rush can't get there, and it likely won't get there against Allen or Mahomes. Our pass defence is atrocious. Our guys have no idea what their assignments are. They're unorganized and constantly pointing fingers at each other. Considering Tomlin is a defensive coach and is apparently heavily involved on that side of the ball, that's not good. I'm not sure it matters who we have at DC.

On the offensive side of the ball, Arthur Smith is far from my first pick, but I think he's done alright. What is hurting this team is the Oline. Dan Moore Jr. and Broderick Jones have been terrible. The thing that pisses me off is Jones is super athletic and is often in the right spot, he's just getting beat due to crappy technique. Why are the coaches not spending more time with him to teach him better technique? Dan Moore Jr is a different story, he's getting driven back, he's not where he should be, his feet are together, etc. He's a disaster, but Broderick Jones does a lot right, he just needs to be taught proper technique. Do we not have assistants that develop these guys?

Between the ongoing miscommunication issues that surface every year, and the poor technique from our OL, I can't help but wonder what the hell our coaches are doing.

just keep Tomlin he is the best. He has no losing seasons. But hasn't won in playoffs for a long time lets waste more years of our lives waiting for a Superbowl --while the Chiefs get 10-- Sounds like a plan --now everyone to Tomlin and say how great he is.
