    Week 1 - 8 for 52
    Week 2 - 10 for 107
    Week 3 - 10 for 81

Pittsburgh is averaging the 4th most penalties per game at 9.3. http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/penalties-per-game

Of course, there have been a couple of phantom calls and we know that some of these refs are not very good, but there have been clear, impactful penalties by Ike (defensive holding on 3rd down), Wallace, (holding on a long run), and Keisel (encroachment on 4th and goal) that are hurting this team in key situations. These guys are veteran guys who should know how to be disciplined when the pressure is on. The coaching really needs to turn up the heat on these guys in all phases (O, D and Special Teams).

PEnalties are certainly a problem, but the Keisel penalty should have been negated by the double shift the Raiders got away with.

I thought that as well. I don't think Kiesel's not savvy enough to jump up trying to point it out to the refs and getting called for encrochment.

My first reaction was illegal shift! The team didn't argue it though so you have to wonder.
