So Truck, after viewing the awesome end zone view - what's your take? I agree with you - he could and should have just stayed along sideline - he has deceiving wheels, he would not have had to slow down or lose momentum, plus he has 81? downfield to disrupt the two Pats moving that direction. At worse, he gets pushed out of bounds and stops the clock when we needed every second left - plus would have saved a time out. I know why he shifted but there were too many other Pats in the midfield area to avoid. Incredible play all around - man is he a talent - and not a shabby bullet pass by BB either. "Oh the Horror" of what transpired after that.

    T me its siml
To me it's simple have the OLB is n his side hit him off the line. We aren't gonna effect Marsha with a outside rush anyway....maybe the hesitation gives Dupree or Watt both with good speed a chance to fly n after. Disrupt the free release ,then pass off to the safety. Gotta try something if there's a next time.
I'm hoping Buffalo takes a cheap shot on him the same way he did...another travesty is Thomas Davis getting a 2 game suspension and the big dope got 1. The league should be embarrassed if they actuality gave a ****
But they are too worried about guaranteeing the cheats the best opportunity possible......fact.

Thanks TTF! I'm afraid I can only see still shots on my iPad, was there an uncalled block in the back or was I seeing things?

I think JuJu made the right cut.... but was disappointed Bryant didn't make it back sooner, I mean James was down there blocking, if MB would have been a couple seconds sooner, he might have been able to setup the TD breaking block.

At the very least he should have stayed on the sidelines to be able to run out of bounds and stop the clock. Even if he doesn't make it to the end zone, he probably still makes it as far as he did and it would have saved the time out.

And you know #92 is just sitting there calmly thinking: "Hug the sideline, hug the sideline, watch out for Fitz, hug the sideline, grab the O2 tank, hug the sideline.......................

The last play of the game Ben should've pump fake to Rogers to get everyone moving to the left.. then give it to James who was right beside him

No after the TD was overturned they should have kicked the field goal and then just flicked the refs off and left the field

Not just singling you out here Jim but seriously I have read enough of what Ben should have done. The only thing he should of done was throw it away. You really think giving it to James behind with kest than 8 seconds no time outs and 3rd down was the right call??????? No!!!!!

So many internet guru's I have read saying what Ben should have done. Playing QB at any level is hard not to mention the pressure of what was on the line there. Am I pissed Ben threw into coverage hell yeah but oh well imo he was playing to win.

The bottom line so much went wrong it was just bound to end like that. Having the ball with 3 min and not putting the game to bed. Letting Gronk own us for 3 straight plays while Butler and Tomlin look like a deer in headlights. The catch-no catch and the play afterwards and yes the last play. Lots here to pick apart but choosing to pick apart what Ben should have done with a split second decision is a tough one to pick apart....jmo.

I was thinking if he wasn't going to throw it away James was the better option he didn't have 10 guys around him.. I think the refs missed the hold on Rogers because the refs view was blocked out from all of the defenders around Rogers. In the end ya throw it away.

Teams may want to stop running slants down on the goal line against the cheats. Just saying.

Im not dumping on Ben, the whole thing was a cluster ****. Too much confusion, youd think theyd have several plays scripted and have discussed no time out situations with time expiring. Ben and Haley wanting to clock it and Tomlin not wanting too cant happen. They need to be on the same page before they are up at the line ready to hike it.

We move on, hopefully they learn something from it.

Thing that irks me is you don't have to practice for this scenario, you have a hot sheet with quick plays for the given time left at down/distance. Having said that, if he's not mugged, or manages to catch it in spite of being mugged, the Patriots are dummies and the Steelers are brilliant.

I know it's easy to play the what-if game, so why not. It that was Brown, does he find a way to make that catch?

I say without a doubt. Definitely. No chance he doesn't. Probably one handed or with his teeth. :D

Though, if Brown is in, it's moot because we're up by 17.

So, did Haley not give him a play? Did Ben just assume it was a spike only to be told by Haley in the headset to run a play? Maybe Ben just wasn't thinking on his feet and didn't know what to do after he originally wanted to spike the ball?

Well, I read later that Ben's story was that the refs were telling ben, if anything it would be 2nd down at the 1 yard line, but they thought the TD would likely stand..... Ben wasn't accounting for it being pushed back to the 10 yard line. So there were too many variables I guess (calling 4 plays vs 2 plays).

How do you practice getting told to spike it then run a play? This was just a plain out right fudge up....... and in the end no PI to make matters worse.

I get it but if James don't make it in game over and no chance at even a tie, bottom line is it was so screwed up. Yes they missed the PI which makes it even that much worse.

Funny how Cowher called an almost identical play with he whose name shall not be said tossing to Barry Foster back at the very end of the '94 AFCCG....didn't work then either. Fortunately there's still time to redeem this one.

Special shout out to TTF not only for setting up and managing this awesome website, but for taking all the extra time to post these great "Coaches Film" clips so that we Monday morning experts can all continue to pee and moan about what did and didn't happen in Sunday's incredible gut-wrenching game. Thank you Steve! Great job. :applaud::applaud::applaud:
