I kinda find it puzzling that there is no article or mention on the Steelers website about Coach Tomlin's father's passing. Yet they have an article about the rb coach and his tragedy. Makes me go hmmmm. :hmmm:

I don't find it puzzling at all. People pass away all the time and the Rooneys can't report on everyones family members however an active coach is critically burned in a fire is more newsworthy IMO.
You may be looking into it too much.
    Prayers for both though.

plus from what I've read, Tomlin and his dad haven't really been close at all, he was more or less raised by his mum alone.

Ya, I read somewhere he hasn't had any contact with his dad since the time he was a young boy. In fact, some of the articles on his passing clearly indicate "Tomlin's birth father...", seeming to indicate he wasn't much of a father figure in his life. Tomlin's mom and stepdad raised him I believe.

I seem to remember during the SBXLIII press conference, Tomlin introducing his stepdad and bringing him up to the podium and saying more more or less that this is my real father, the one who raised me and made me the man I am today.
