Just finished listening to Coach T's press conference and here are some notes:

    Gilbert and Troy- Out
    Sylvester- Very questionable (hamstring)
Woodley's hamstring status is better than Sly's, Tomlin didn't give a lot of info about it.

Mendenhall cleared to do individual drills on Wed.
Dwyer- quad strain. Dwyer out Wed., hopes he can practice Thursday.
    Redman-expected to practice Wed.

    Ryan Clark-
Nothing changed with his status. If he passes tests he can play. (One reporter said he wouldn't have guessed he had a concussion after seeing right after the game.)

Went through the usual praise of the upcoming opponent. Said they do things that winning teams do. Eli is a winner. "We are looking at playing the defending world champs, in their place, that's varsity ball as they say in our business".

Tomlin doesn't know if weather will affect Sunday's game in NY. Said the NFL was looking at 'options' for Sunday's game.

The steelers will proceed as business as usual in spite of changes in venue or possible postponement.

Tomlin said, "It's not respectable" about Antonio Brown's taunting penalty, and talked to him and the entire team about it.

About Ta'amu, he said "we'll do what's best for us".

Said that Ta'amu has separate issues-'in house issues, league issues, and legal issues'. "Such is life"

Said that Tom Couglin calls him "Mikey" lol.

Woudn't name starting running back. Said he would decide the stater by the end of the week which obviously makes sense.

Dwyer is starting to come across as a walking band-aid.

Is it just me, or does Tomlin say "such is life" during every press conference he has?

There is no doubt in my mind if Dwyer is good to go, he will start.

League officials are saying that they plan to proceed with the game at MetLife Stadium, not moving venues. Saying that the stadium doesn't appear to have suffered any damage. Greg Aiello said, "We are going to prepare to play and will stay in close touch with public authorities" in regards to the transportation situation in the area.

I dont think Dwyer is a walking band-aid anymore than any of our other backs.

Take shaner's comment about Dwyer with a grain of salt. I'm starting to think that he is in love with Rahtard. He believes that Mendenhall is not injury-prone even though he has only made it through 2 seasons out of 5 he has been with the team and has had 3 different injuries. http://www.thesteelersfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4547

I'm not in love with any current Steelers player. Haven't been since Ward left. I don't believe a guy who has had his shoulder shattered by Raw Lewis, and then suffered a freak ACL injury is injury prone, and I fully believe his current ACL injury is an over-compensation type injury, related to his ACL injury. That stuff happens a lot.

Regardless, it does seem like Dwyer has been injured every single year since he came into the league, and he has had multiple nagging injuries already this year.

Well, every one of our backs has had their injury issues in the NFL except Rainey, who should be the most likely to get hurt. Strange.

That being said, I find it amazing that Mendenhall has been our starter for as long as he has and NEVER had back to back 100 yard games.

The reality right now is that Mendy is a good back, but if he wants any kind of high dollar figure, he will be playing elsewhere.

I don't think he'll be demanding a big contract. I do still believe he is our best RB. We'll see in time I guess.

Dwyer has been a 3rd string RB at best since he got here so the reasons for him not playing have been more related to his position on the depth chart not so much injuries. There were times that he wasn't even active because there were guys ahead of him that dressed. Yeah he has gotten dinged up a few times but he has been more reliable/durable than Mendenhall in his time in the league. He has only gotten 2 starts and has done very well in those two starts. Because of that, I believe he has at least earned more touches if not more starts.

And you can characterize Mendenhall's injuries any way you want. The fact is that he has missed more games from a percentage standpoint of the games where he WOULD HAVE played due to injuries than Dwyer. Mendenhall spends way too much on the sidelines for a starting RB. His current injury is an achilles according to the injury report, not an ACL. And unless you are a doctor and have examined him, your statement that his current injury is related to his ACL last year is nothing more than speculation.

I'm only bringing these things up because you seem to be looking at players through a different lens and using a different measuring stick.

Kinda funny that three of our vetern running backs are injured and the rookie (Rainey) is not? Pretty much blows up Shaner82's theory!

He didnt speculate on troy at all from what I saw and heard. He kinda just jumped over it, he said Gilbert is out along with troy, and then he moved on...

Nobody take Knox's comments with a grain of salt. He clearly looks at everything through an accurate, unbiased lens. That's why he wants Mendenhall on the sidelines, holding the clipboard, regardless of how healthy he is. Yeah, that's what's best for the team, right? It wouldn't have anything to do with an off-field personal grudge at all...

You would take my comments with two grains of salt if you knew anything. Glad to see your girlfriend come to your rescue shaner.

And it isn't a personal grudge. I just think rahtards's eyeballs are too big.

One thing about Tomlin addressing the team about AB I would like to know is did he also address the team about Ta'Amu? I mean heck dude it's not like AB drove while plastered. Hit multiple cars. Injured an innocent person. Then resisted arrest to the point that he had to be punched in the face. Address the team about crap like this. Tell the media you don't like crap like that. If AB said he didn't know the rule then so be it. I guess Ta'Amu didn't know the rule either right? I just think this whole thing with AB is getting blown WAY out of proportion. Also I think if Dwyer is healthy he will get to start. But if Mendy is also healthy I think Tomlin will go with him instead.

I also would like to see Mendy running in this system. But I have NO problem whatsoever watching Mendy do the outside running and using Dwyer to bang it up the middle and break some tackles. Also Mendy is good as a receiver too. With this new offense I think he could do really good on screens.

Not sure why you have to drop the F-Bomb? If you're going to try and pass off your speculation as fact then you may get called on it. You may very well be right about some of your statements, but without something to back it up it's just dribble at best.
I won't get into name calling with you as I think we cam debate the issue without that.

Some of you guys are being pretty f**k**** ridiculous. Who gives a s**t what I think or what anyone else thinks. You have your opinions, I have mine. You don't have to agree. You guys are acting like f**k**** children though.[/quote:1t641x50]

Do you know the general tone of the conversation or was it an in-house thing? Just curious.
