In Steeler land, a losing season is defined as any season we don’t win the Super Bowl! :rules::herewego!:

Because the media makes it about race. Honestly if Tomlin were not black, he’d actually be on the hot seat and not praised for mediocrity.

Speaking of Bradshaw have you heard his backup QB in college was Phil from Duck Dynasty?

    Didn't Bradshaw push him out?

    Robertson had been the starter?

I want to live in that magical far away land where the media doesn't exacerbate racial tensions for views and clicks.

Robertson was older, so was the starter. As far as I know, when he was done, Bradshaw came in. NFL wanted him, but he wanted to duck hunt.

That's brilliant. Back in the 70s NFL players didn't make what they do now. Imagine someone turning down NFL money now to shoot ducks.

Small sample size but Charlie Batch went 6-3 I remember and then Tomlin had that 8-8 season so would guess about 14-12.

Steelers are in a rebuild without Ben and with an inexperienced roster.

I agree with you on this whole history thing with the Ravens. The Ravens franchise itself is the same old Browns franchise. The current Browns are an entirely new franchise. This leaving your history behind doesn't make sense. If you get a divorce and move to a new town to start over, you don't become a virgin again.

You must live in Fantasy Land. Because in every other corner of this country, the ONLY conversation is about race.

More than half of the players in the NFL are African American. Much of the coaching pool comes from former players, so it does say something about hiring practices that there is only one African American head coach. The goalposts didn't move. Not all minorities are interchangeable.

Regarding Carroll, there is one major difference between him and Tomlin that you are missing. Carroll is 70 years old. Tomlin is 49. That matters.

Honestly I agree that in football and larger society there is a huge problem with the percentages of a workforce not matching the overall demographic.

If I was NFL Commissioner I would make the players in the NFL 60% white 18% Hispanic and 13% black and 9% other. Nothing could be more fair than that. And I would make the front office and coaching positions fit the same quotas.

The problem with calling that hindsight is the Steelers should have known better. No team had a better opportunity to get to know Marino. He was a Pittsburgh kid and he had a great career at Pitt. He had a fantastic arm, an incredibly quick release, and he was more mobile than people give him credit for being.

You do realize this post makes you sound like a racist troll, right? I don't mean that as an attack on you, but you should realize how that sounds.

The NFL isn't that racist in terms of bringing in players, but there is an issue with its hiring practices when it comes to coaches. I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Why would it be racist to have equal representation in the workforce as compared to overall population? That makes no sense to me. Can you explain why equal representation would be racist?

The really bizarre thing is that EA and Madden football tie both the Ravens and current Browns to the same all time records. I once started a franchise, got rid of the Ravens and was surprised Jim Brown and Otto Graham were listed as all time greats for my franchise.

Okay, so you actually want to continue your gaslighting so you can look like a racist troll. Got it.

It is racist to argue that they should cap the number of African American players. There was a time racism kept African Americans out of the league. Then there was a time that they were allowed to play, but not at quarterback.

Racism is still part of why there are so few African American head coaches.

On the other hand, at no time, has racism kept white men from playing or coaching.

Not if you don’t listen. All your electronic devices have off switches. You choose want you want to hear and believe. I’m not buying the “Tomlin’s only here because of the color of his skin”. 15 years and no losing seasons? That’s a hell of an accomplishment. Did Noll do it? Carroll? Shula? Bellychuck? How about, he’s still here because he’s pretty good. Not great but, pretty damned good.

    You're being very rude.

No one is different. Any racial disparities in the NFL are therefore environmental. I proposed the formation of an environment that creates direct representation for men of all backgrounds. That is equity.

What I proposed is a system founded on the presumption that all men are created equal, and that environmental opportunities explain any disparities in the NFL.

If you agree that all men are equal then you must accept that the NFL should be directly proportional in its ethnic makeup to the overall population.

Are you saying that black men should be treated differently than everyone else? Are you saying that black men are biologically different from everyone else? To me that sounds racist.

I just gave my opinion stating that I agree that there are too many racial disparities in the workforce and there should be equity across the board. The same 60/18/13/9 split would affect doctors, lawyers, police, teachers etc. literally everything. Everyone deserves the same opportunity. I think that is the future we deserve.

Also, women should be 51% of all ownership, front offices, coaches and 100% of kickers, placeholders and punters.
