IF (and I realize this is a big IF at this point) the Steelers somehow manage to win the AFC North this year or even make the playoffs as a wildcard team, Coach Tomlin will deserve strong consideration for the Coach of the Year. With all of the injuries (Troy, AB, Ben, Mendy, Decastro, Harrison, Woodley, etc.) that the team has endured coupled with the retirements in the offseason of key leaders like Aaron Smith, Hines and Farrior, Tomlin is doing a remarkable job of steering the ship through troubled waters. I've been a little critical of Tomlin in the past but if the team finishes the season with a strong showing and good momentum going into the playoffs, he has my vote!

I agree with that. He'll get extra points due to Pogano's illness.

What if the Saints can mount a run? I obviously would like to see Mike Tomlin get it and IF the original posters thoughts come to fruition I would say he should get it hands down.

I would say Gary Kubiak or Mike Smith probably have it right now.

The team with the best record isn't a shoe in for coach of the year. A coach of a team that faces a lot of adversity and over comes them is just as strong a candidate if not stronger.

Tomlin has a great chance especially if the Steelers can still make the playoffs with Ben sidelined.

if the Saints or Colts make the playoffs though, their coach will get the nod.

Tomlin has had to deal with a ton of injuries and he still has his team in a good position to make the playoffs.

injuries to Troy, Clark, Harrison, Woodley, Ike, Ben, AB, Mendy, Redman, Dwyer, DeCastro, Gilbert and Pouncey. plus a bunch of other role players missing time is pretty substantial. Tomlin gets a lot of flack, but like usuall most Steeler fans are never happy with what they got.

there are a few that like Tomlin, but i would bet there are more that dont.

Yeah, Cowher was cheated out of it in 2004. 15-1 with a rookie QB. Just BS
