Well, my dad, who is a in his early 70s, was here watching the Chiefs/Browns game with me. Now that he's gone I can express my delight at the Browns getting beat. Hated seeing Mahomes get hurt like that.

Aside from Phil Simms being a dork, what he said makes perfect sense.

    I agree but he's still a dork.

I assume he's referring to the helmet to helmet hit from Sorensen, which caused the fumble. If that penalty was called the Brown would have been first and goal at the one yard line. It's just another example of the flawed officiating/review system the NFL uses.

The Browns fans definitely have an argument now about the helmet to helmet no penalty.

Stains wouldnt have even been close in that game without a Mahomes injury.

If they did call the penalty, would the Chiefs had the ball at the 10?

They would have been very much in the game if they called the Helmet to Helmet which basically happened the same in the Saints/TB game .

And a concussion occurs a lot when a player head hits the ground, Lamar Jackson got a concussion against the Bills when his head hit the ground.

They would have been down by at least 2 TDS by then so it wouldnt have mattered.

The game was 16-3 at the time. 1st and goal makes it 16-10 most likely. Huge difference.

It was 19-3 and he got knocked out in the 3rd, you really thing they only put up 3 more points if Mahomes wasn’t injured.

Edit: 16-3, I was talking about when Mahomes got injured. Think that’s when it was.

Chiefs were kicking field goals and missed one.

    Should have never been close.

Bottom line: The team that housed the Steelers lost to a backup QB. The 2nd place team in the division scored 3 pts.

The Steelers 2020 stock continues to drop.

Browns would have had the ball at the one. The fumble would be negated because it was caused by the illegal hit.

When that play happened at the goal line, the Chiefs were up 16-3. A Browns TD would have put them down only 6.. I dont know where you're getting the down by 2 TDs stuff

Yes, I said in my post when I edited it that it was 16-3, we were talking about two different things. I was referring to when Mahomes got injured it was 19-3.

As for the 2 TD’s, I was saying if Mahomes hadn’t left the game, Browns wouldnt have been close at the end. They scored 3 more points after he left. Anyone thinks they only score 3 points with Mahomes still in the game, I want what they are smoking.

^^^^^ Yeah, but give them the 7 pts. they probably would/should have had, and they win 24-22.

The question seems to be, where would the ball been spotted if the helmet to helmet penalty was called?

The LOS was the 26. I don't believe that's a spot of the foul penalty. It's 15 yard personal foul penalty. It would've negated the fumble and it would've been 1st and 10 at the 11 yard line.

Not an automatic TD by any means but they would've probably at least cut it to a 10 point game.
