It isn't an easy comparison. The game was drastically different by the time Roethlisberger's career began.

There were only 2 WR's in the history of the NFL combine to be 6'5" weigh over 235 and run a sub 4.40 forty, Calvin Johnson and Chase Claypool. He just doesn't have it between the years though.

 

Marshmallow Claypool landed in Chicago on his @ss like he did on most catches. And did nothing!

He is immature thinking he is better then he is. His rookie season showed promise and all the accolades really went to his head. Then the arrow started pointing down.

Khan had the stones to see this and fleece the Bears for a solid pick. Then followed up and filled a position of need. The icing will be if Porter Jr becomes a solid NFL corner.

 

Given how the Bears Coaching Staff and even players are pissed off with him, one has to wonder how much longer does Chase Claypool have in the NFL?! No seriously, it is a fair question as his contract is set to run out come 2024. I understand that a team may take a chance on him but not at the price he believes he is warranted unless he has a bounce back in a major way.

 

Sad for Him to have that much physical talent, and can't keep it together.

 

Da Bears should take a lesson from the Steelers and trade him to the Raiders

 

Here's my Ben vs. Bradshaw argument. SB IX and SB XL cancel each other out. First SB for each, neither were a difference maker. SB X, Swann saved Bradshaw on at least 2 of his 4 catches. Ben probably puts the throws in better spots for Swann to make easier catches. SBs XIII Bradshaw was dealing, but Roethlisberger probably does also. SB XIV either QB would have beat the 9-7 Rams. SB XLIII, I am not sure Bradshaw has accuracy to hit Holmes the way Ben did. SB XLV, Bradshaw never lost a Super Bowl. TB wins 6 of those 7. maybe all 7. Big Ben wins 6 of 7. Terry was the king of drawing plays in the dirt and was doing so before Ben was born.

 

Possible that Bradshaw was better that Ben career wise but in 1974,he was not better that 2005 Ben...I mean Bradshaw has been benched twice in the 1974 by Noll!

 

Great trade for the Steelers. It was an absolute no brainer given what Chicago gave up. They were desperate for receiver help at the time but I’ll bet they’d like that one back now

Chase could still do ok in the league because you can’t teach his physical traits but he needs to work hard on virtually every other aspect of his game. He may not have that in him though

 

Bradshaw was never the worst QB to ever play a super bowl

Ben was

Bradshaw was a 2 x Super Bowl MVP

Ok STD if you want to argue second worst I will concede

 

That still is going off of QBR.....which I have shown is made up crap, and straight at worst. Example: Ben's last year 9-7 record...22 tds, and 10 ints. 35.6 QBR.
Trubisky last year 2-3 record....4 tds, and 5 ints. 56.4 QBR. Make that make sense. You can't, and that's why everytime I bring it up....You never answer . Also they didn't even have QBR when Bradshaw played, and this is what they go by when they say Ben was the worst....the made up QBR....a stat that was made up by ESPN.

 

Terry Bradshaw had a 14-5 record in the playoffs in his career 8-3 to finish

Winner when you need him

Ben Roethlisberger was 13-10 in the playoffs in his career 3-8 to finish

Not so much if a winner

Bradshaw understood the playbook

Ben not so much

And no question Bradshaw had one of the best arms ever

I am 100% not sure and not searching for it but did we get Bettis in a trade or free agent?? If trade it would rank as best trade ever.

 

This is definitely a fair question. He NEEDS to have a solid year next year or his future in the league is in jeopardy. He may get another camp invite or two, but that is it. His baggage is worth more than his talent when the talent doesn't translate to the field. I don't know why Chicago traded 32 for him. He was really bad his last two years in Pittsburgh and he didn't show any improvement in areas he needed to get better in. He didn't pan out as a player and we recuperated our pick and then some before he flamed out. Great job by Khan.

Ben had the lowest rating for a QB who won the Superbowl and he was only 23, still the record for the youngest QB to win a Lombardi. The lowest QB rating ever in a Superbowl was a zero point zero John Belushi type performance by Craig Morton of the Broncos against the Cowboys. He was 4-15 for 34 yards, no TD's and 4 picks. Rich Gannon also had a horrendous Superbowl against Tampa Bay when he threw 5 interceptions, 3 of them pick sixes. Tony Eason of the Patriots was 0-6 passing against the 1985 Bears before he was mercifully benched in the second quarter.

 

Chase Claypool joins the likes of Martavis Bryant, Tim Worley, and Troy Edwards in the Pittsburgh Ring of "WTF Happened There Then?"

Just use Your common sense, and think. Bradshaw played with 9 HOFers.....Ben played with one for one year, one for two years, and one for a good part of his career....2 HCs, and still went to 3 SBs. How many do You think He may have gotten to with 9 HOF players playing with Him most of His career???? Hell We see what Bradshaw looked like when all those HOF players left....not very good.....Hell He looked not very good with HOF players for about 4 years. Now stop being dumb, and think really think about that. Also one played with a top 5 HC of all times by most agreements on this board, but the other played for 2 HCs most in Here won't even put in the top 10. Again don't let feelings guide Your thinking.
