They got Kadarius Toney from the Giants, who took him in the first round in 2021. It is such an odd trade. The Giants are hurting at receiver, but they just traded one. The Chiefs gave up a conditional third-round pick and a sixth rounder for a guy who caught 39 passes as a rookie, but only two in two games this season.

We’d have to give up our 2nd rounder along with claypool to get the giants 2nd rounder.

He was the Giants' first-round pick in 2021. He had a few good games last season, but he has been hurt a lot. He only played the first two games this season and did almost nothing, catching only two passes. He has been out with a hamstring injury since. When healthy, he is fast and elusive. He is probably more of a slot guy.

How did this thought work out

The midgets chances of even making the team next year are less that 50/50

    He’s not replacing Claypool

If Kadarius Toney can get a return of a 3rd and 6th. Claypool demands a 1st. Claypools worst year with an aging QB, brain dead OC, and 3rd option his stats that year are 2x Toneys career stats.

Based on the values of picks please explain your highly calculated mathematical equation you used to add up to a first

    Or was this just :bscow:

Pull up their NFL stats. Look at both. If Toney gets a 3rd and 6th. Claypool demands a 1st.

I still like Claypool and don't want him to go yet. I'd take a 1st rounder for him in a heartbeat. No one is giving you that for him.

Austin is a rookie on a 4 year deal. he is not going anywhere next year.

I still say Pickens overtakes Claypool on the depth chart with our 1-2 punch being DJ and Pickens. And, coming in 3rd in team receptions will be Pat Freiermuth.

Most of the rookies drafted are on 4 year deals. That doesn't mean a thing. He can still get cut.

Claypool demands nothing. Any given player is worth what another team is willing to give up. Toney being worth a 3rd and a 6th to the Chiefs doesn't mean that by default Claypool is worth a one because of stats. That's not how any of this works.

I think Toney is a knucklehead, probably why the Giants were willing to trade him in his second year.

I'm not sure about that, but he can't seem to stay healthy.

There were some red flags with him coming out of college, and rumors the Giants wanted to trade him during his rookie year.

People are going to talk about trade rumors. It is a message board after all.

You seem to think talking about it will make it happen. Don’t worry, your boy is safe.

I think He should be, and I've never been a huge fan, but He has played pretty good in the 2nd half of the last two games. IMO.

Don’t be fooled by the locks that he got.
He’s just Claypool on the trade block.
Used to drop a little, now he drops a lot.
No matter where he goes, a 3rd round pick is what I’m hoping on.

Not even sure he was hurt, he tweeted this before deleting it:

Sounds like he has maturity issues but then there is this:

Could of just been a bad fit and wanted to move on but I think it’s a stellar move by the Chiefs. Guy is super talented and has Mahomes throwing to him now. And like the tweet below says, Chiefs could be counting on their culture to get the most out of him.

Toney reminds me of AB, on the field that that is. He is dangerous in the open field. I feel he could be really good in the right situation.
