I said he might be a good prospect in the 4th round or later, not hyping him though, he's not ready to start as a rookie he needs to sit for awhile IMO.

    Mmhmm..

Okay, for one, of the past 10 seasons, Ohio State really has never had the guy at QB. Realistically speaking, what those Ohio State Teams of old did have were ridiculous talent everywhere else... and I mean everywhere else. Within the past 10 seasons, more often than not, that starting QB has been along for the ride.

Regarding the second point, I have watched college football extensively this season; more so than I thought I would have thanks to COVID 19. Not once did I see "it" with Fields sans his abilities in terms of athleticism and extending plays. In terms of arm talent?! Among the likes of Lawrence, Wilson, Lance and even Mac Jones, Justin Fields does not possess the same levels of Accuracy, Arm Strength nor Arm Talent. Yes, he does have a leg up on Mac Jones in terms of Strength and Talent but in terms of Accuracy?! Mac Jones beats him hands down.

However, the most important critique that I stated was the most damning one; handling pressure. For a supposed Franchise QB, Justin Fields has the biggest "deer in headlights" concern I have ever seen. Never mind being afraid as he freezes up faster than a Vancouver Winter Strom can. Add his inexperience at only 1.5 Years and Justin Fields, for me, is arguably a bigger boom or bust prospect than Trey Lance.

If anything, this is not even the tipping point of a mountain of issues I have with Fields. Look for that in the coming Top Five By Position.... which hopefully is out by the end of the week. Too many Computer Issues and Windows is not helping.

Interesting video on Jamie Newman by JT O'Sullivan on his channel. Being a formal NFL QB, I tend to consider what these guys say.

Newman hurt his stock by opting out of the season, he then struggled at the Senior Bowl, I don't see him going before the 5th round.

What does any of that (hyperbole) have to do with Fields? Comparisons to Haskins/Jones/Pryor are lazy. His game is better in every respect.

I like Mac Jones and I love his accuracy, but he also threw a lot of gimmicky short passes to pad that 77% number. Sarkisian is a wizard at Alabama and their talent level is unmatched.

I mean, Fields completed 70% of his passes. Not sure I'd say anyone beats him "hands down".

His biggest problem is always trying to make the big play, holding the ball too long and forcing things when he could simply scramble or take a checkdown. That is coachable. Josh Allen and Ben Roethlisberger also had (and still do to some extent still have) that tendency. Was one of the biggest knocks on Mahomes coming out.

I'll be waiting with bated breath.

Lawrence is the most hyped since Luck, I could see a similar "high floor, but never reached ceiling" career.
