So being forced to watch the Bears most weeks I get to see some bad football. I know most people in Chicago have this guy made out to be a scapegoat because of losing to Aaron Rodgers in 2013 in week 17. This guy is always a leading tackler on the team which is kinda scary since he isn't an in the box safety. Has made some big acrobatic interceptions and has stated to the media he would rather die 10-15 years earlier than not play in the NFL. Truly a guy that loves to play the game.

If we picked him up I think that could slide Mitchel to his more natural (I think at least) spot at SS. Even if it's to be a backup at this point he is still fairly young (26) and could start if needed.

The only reason I bring this up is because it seems like we are playing chicken with Troy P. on whether or not he will be here. S. Thomas is still unproven and there hasn't been a lot of buzz with him except for people on this board. I mean how many safeties did we end up with on the roster at one point or another last year, 6? Yes there were a few injuries but we kept them all till the end of the season.

No, he sucks just like the rest of the Bears defense. The Steelers have their 2 starters at safety in Shamarko and Mitchell.
