Chris gets a lot of flak, but I remember him coming in as a rookie, he was pretty damn good. He has done pretty well for himself in his post FB career as well. PFF may or may not be overrated or fluff, but he found a niche, got investors and has made a boatload of cash out of it, people may hate him or laugh at him, but he is laughing his way to the bank.

The story he told is actually better if you click on it and listen to him tell it on the Rich Eisen show instead of just reading it. Pretty cool story really.

Thing I remember most was The SB. He told the announcer he was enjoying the ladies.

    Funny story!

People think Chris hates the Steelers but I don’t think so, he has a lot of good things to say about them.

I have to agree with you here; I get why most Steeler fans didn't like Collinsworth at the beginning of his broadcasting career, he was most-anti-Steeler I have heard when announcers are not supposed to be biased. He clearly was, went out of his way to extra criticize the Steelers, but that was 20 years ago. In the last decade, he's been pretty "pro-Steelers" if anything, speaking out about how tough they are, what the team brings to the table in a mostly positive way.

Like this article for example: He was mostly speaking positively, if somewhat intimidated, about the Steelers he faced. It brings a smile to my face reading/hearing about his takes when playing Pitt, coming at the end of their dominance, but still intimidating to play against.

And Chris wasn't some cupcake: He had four season over 1,000 yards (and another one close at 989 yards) at a time when it was a BIG DEAL for a WR to gain over 1,000 yards. LBs and DBs could "clean your clock" at that time when you went over the middle (and Lambert did so going off this article).

    JMHO

When we do something good he says do

When we do something bad he says so

Most of the time I hear the whining here is when he’s honest about something we screwed up

Some people just don’t like to hear constructive criticism

And truthful as well which is why I think he rubs Steeler fans the wrong way. Going to be interesting how he handles Aaron Rodgers this year and if he will say his play has seriously dropped off.

Don’t flatter yourself, Chris. Lambert did not say “Collinsworth, if you ever come over the middle again, I’ll kill you!” he actually said “COLLINGSWORTH, if you ever come over the middle again, I’ll kill you!”. :lolol:

Collinsworth is okay and is probably one of the better analysts today. That is a cool story, ranks right up there with Elway’s story about Lambert.

I think they are talking about Mel Blount in the beginning. The original link about crashed my computer so here is the YT link.

Always thought Chris was fair in his Steeler views and showed the Steelers respect as he should. Funny story about Jack Lambert and that is the way Lambert played during that era. One of the best middle linebacker ever.

Chris has actually graduated from "fine" to being one of the current established "voices" in the NFL hierarchy.

Saw the Rich Eisen podcast. Funny.

Most of the color commentators are garbage blathering away. The worst is Romo.

Romo started out as the cat's meow. He was an expert at diagnosing plays and predicting what was coming. Then, they called him off doing that as much. Viewers got sick of it? Don't know.
