Doesn't really surprise me. Bell was just coming into the league. Then he gets hurt. Twice.

I really don't blame Bell for what he his doing. I'm not upset he's choosing to better himself and his family. I don't see it as 'greedy'. He has 2-3 years tops more in this league playing at a high level. Pretty much guaranteed. There's a whole lot of life life after 30 <<<< hopefully.

I as many others have a problem with HOW he handled everything. I never did like the silent treatment. In relationships or otherwise. It's a form a passive aggressiveness which is frankly annoying, and potentially destructive.. << which may be the REASON. <<< Which is why it has me pissed off a bit.

He turned down a long term contract that would of made him very rich, cuz he thinks he can get Gurley type money, but Gurley has never been suspended or arrested. He is being played by his agent!

 

I don't think his agent is the problem.

 

Most players are dumb, that's why they need agents. There is no excuse for his agent to think he can get Gurley money. And the Rooney's are well respected by the other owners, maybe they stick together and he will never get that type of money.

 

His agent is a raceist, i saw somehere where he talked abt slavery in the NFL, ...

 

I was thinking the same thing. The Rooneys are well respected and it sets a bad precedent for the owners in future player contracts if Bell makes out in the end. I could see the owners sticking together on this one but as we all know it only takes 1. Bell does have a lot of strikes against him though with his past suspensions ,injuries and just the whole way he went about this. Even though he's earned the right to do what he's doing it's been handled extremely poorly. The emergence of Conner behind what is the best or one of the best OLs in football doesn't help Bell's cause one bit. If you factor everything in at this point and the money he left on the table. It's very difficult to see how he makes up for everything in the end. Bell+agent= dumb.....
